  1. Welcome to the forum mate, we've not had an Aussie for a while I don't think! Surprised there's no Glanzas over there given the love for the 82s; was it an import restriction stopping it?
  2. If I were you, I'd get the plastic skirts pulled off ASAP. GT Turbos have been known to have severe sill corrosion hidden behind the plastics before now, so even if just for peace of mind, I'd check them. On the whole, the Starlet is looking good though! It's all the little things that come together.
  3. Quick update as there's not been much to report on! Had an issue before the Christmas period where the Starlet was not running right at all. Spark was fine, but nothing was happening in cylinder 2 at all, there was barely any heat getting into it but I also tested the injectors for signal/continuity and they came back fine as well. Plug was very sooty. Compression test revealed there was low compression on cylinder 2, which pointed to either fucked valves or rings as oil and coolant looked fine and there was no steam. At this point I'm thinking the worst, that there's a big hole melted into
  4. I've not updated this in a bit! Moved over to Yorkshire for work a year ago and had less space to do anything to the car so other than small things, not much has happened. Had a race-spec rocker and catch can lying around for ages so finally got these to Rob-H (RCH Engineering) to get the baffle spot welds drilled out and tapped for bolting back in so everything could be properly cleaned. Good job I did as well as there were deposits of caked oily sand from a previous paint job! Ended up getting both the rocker and catch can powdercoated to gloss black, and also bought some Magnecor red lea
  5. Good to see the Rattlesnek is alive and well!
  6. Looks to be in lovely condition! I'm a bit late in saying, but welcome to UKSO! Give me those Harts pls
  7. Unfortunately you could be waiting a while, they're as rare as hen's teeth now. Retro jap tin has been massively going up in price in recent years.
  8. Not completely sold on the Hypersport short shift kit, but I don't know how much of that is syncros getting worn. Hard to get into second most of the time, have to wiggle it a bit to get the shifter into 2nd. The throw is much improved in general however, with the lower (2nd, 4th, R) gears having slightly shorter throw than the upper (1st, 3rd, 5th) gears Other than that, no issues to report. Rear wiper motor looks to be giving, or have given, up the ghost; currently the wiper arm is parked upright. Going to get a bit of WD on it in the New Year to see what that does.
  9. I dearly want one of these with a ZC lump, just from this video alone. I love the design of that rear hatch as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJiY8adHCFQ
  10. Not much to report on really. I got a job and moved into the enemy lands of Yorkshire, so the Starlet has been doing daily duties. The Ogura clutch has finally started to slip. A quick browse of Nengun later and... Well. Brand new Ogura ORC309 In addition to that, I also ordered a Hypersport short shift kit. Both of these items should be getting fitted the week after next, all going well. :D I think the new pressure plate will take my leg by surprise, as I'm sure it's taking less pressure to use the Ogura I have in at the moment than is normal.
  11. Yep, a Renault Laguna splitter
  12. Hello all, Just to remind you that the sales section and club membership is there for a reason - protecting you. In the last few days, it's come to light that a non-paid member has contacted another and sold them some items, items which, when they turned up, were not as described. The seller in this case appears to have been someone we had banned before for the same thing, only come back with a different account. The IP address has now also been banned, but this isn't an infallible method as new accounts can be made and logged in from anywhere. We know that the restrictions before you can
  13. They're both (noisy and silent) called the 309D, but the actual part code for the silent says 309DS. Here is the silent type 309D on RHDJapan: https://www.rhdjapan.com/orc-309d-silent-single-plate-metal-clutch-kit-ep82-ep91.html I must admit I do love my jangling clutch though haha. It does attract some funny looks at times it must be said, and it sounds really loud once in an enclosed space (such as a shared driveway between two semi-detached houses), so be aware of that. Edit: On buying the clutch from RHDJapan, I know it can be steep and you may be waiting a bit of time, but I honestly
  14. Well, it all looked very promising for Toyota, but with that limited production and the price, I can't help but feel they've lost the plot. I'd understand the limited numbers if there was already a hot (or even warm) hatch Yaris out there and this was a model to build upon the pedigree and be a more specialist/hardcore version (to which all the Masters of Nurburging fanfare would be justified), but there's nothing between this and the next rung down which is a bog standard Yaris. They've shot themselves in the foot. A lot of people were eager to see something to knock ST's off their pe
  15. Paging Blutto...! Dad used to have one, sold it earlier this year. Generally trouble free other than the common issue of the extended alternator harness giving up. And he had swapped his suspension out to BCs as Toyota wanted £600 a corner at the time to replace the original units
  16. Looked a good turnout! Wanted to be there but couldn't. Roll on JAE
  17. Nope, not with the Android app, which is a shame. The only option is to select 'Share Direct Link' when holding down on a photo and then copying to clipboard. As you said, you'd have to wrap the tags yourself. The web interface has preformatted copyable links however.
  18. Photobucket has been dire for years mate. I changed to imgur yonks ago and never looked back. They don't compress your images down either which is good.
  19. Christ, I remember that name!! Welcome back to the fold Rubix! The new Chaser looks well
  20. Remember you well from the old days of TGTT! Glad to see you still have the GT
  21. I sacked off Photobucket years ago and started using imgur.com No file size limit on uploads so it still keeps the same quality And you can edit photos on there if need be, but if they're on an external site anyway, you won't need to downscale them for UKSO.
  22. I've personally found the Ferodo DS2500 great pads to use! Amjad is selling a set for only £90 - well worth the money - http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/100876-l90-posted-ferodo-ds2500-pads-oem-fitment-turbo-na/ EDIT: Didn't see they were sold, my bad!
