  1. To mention on my Glanza there are 3 electrical plug connectors at the top: left, middle and right. Push in the squeezy clip located in the centre of each whilst pulling them out. Then there is a white plastic 'over clip' on the top of the speedo cable in the centre of the clocks, that sits in a notch where it connects into the back of the clocks. Feel it with your fingers. Prise it slightly from one side with your fingers whilst sliding it down and off the speedo cable. Then the cable will come out with a bit of a tug. Then the clocks will be free to remove. Reverse the pro
  2. The most important thing I can recommend is buying the best quality bulbs for the clock lights i.e. Osram. I had a couple of experiences replacing the clock bulbs with basic brand bulbs and they lasted less than 6 months and then you have to redo it all again. The Osram's I've had in are years old and still good.
  3. You should put at least a jubilee / hose clip on there just to make sure it doesn't pop off from the pressure etc
  4. Quick update on explaining the mystery. I got in touch with Jay on TGTT who told me that: "Toyota started introducing a different evaporator housing from Dec 97 (coincides nicely with the mk2 V) which incorporated cabin pollen filters. As you can imagine in Japan this was a major feature as they are all about the air quality. Worth noting that it's not just as cut and dry as that. Pollen filters only became factory in 97, however before that you could still spec them as a dealer option. That means there's 1996 V's running round with them too albeit retrofitted." Therefore, this
  5. Nice, clear differences there from stock. So was Jam the only aftermarket company to do a cast one then? I mean if there was another company who made a cast one, it'd be pretty hard to tell what is genuine JAM and what isn't, no?
  6. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/53119-ha-finially-proved-the-turbo-timers-off-the-mr2s-arnt-genuine/ Just to help - Seems the turbo timer switch is just for an aftermarket part (although looks oem). Not toyota OEM or an optional extra.
  7. Cool find! My question is how do we know this is a genuine JAM manifold, they are usually not stamped are they?
  8. Cool, looks like we've settled it then, unless someone with a 96 shows a pic of one lol No idea about gt's though. Thanks for explaining the pipe function also. Makes me wonder where all the junk that the filter picks up goes to in mine though!
  9. Out of interest, people saying they have a 98 glanza v - is that deffo a v from the factory? I.e. not a conversion and still has the filter??
  10. I think you may be right. Here is a pic of my genuine 96 v. (Sorry couldnt rotate pic) The box has no filter hole. However i notice there's a pipe comnected that looks like it goes through the firewall, your car doesn't have that pipe so toyota must have changed a few things on the facelift system.
  11. Actually reading the threads on tgtt so many contradicting views. I'd be interested to see what the definitive answer is. Some saying 98 spec glanza has them whilst 96 spec doesn't. Vast majority that say they have them is ep91 non turbo / not glanza models. Pretty certain my 96 does not have them remember looking numerous times...
  12. I think there is a thread on tgtt explaining this.
  13. Cheers for the info all. Who was Mc Chu, wasn't he in Thailand? I recall joining the starlet community right around the time that he slowed down / stopped producing his products. Was he a one man band? Was hoping the TRD one was carbon due to the cost when they pop up for sale..
  14. Can anyone tell me is the optional extra TRD Carbon Dial Surround REAL carbon fibre or just plastic with a carbon effect look / covering? Pic attached of the part in question. Thanks
  15. Just a relatively small problem but a warning to others buying more expensive items. I purchased an HKS pink oil filter for £17.00 off this chap advertising on fb marketplace. After receiving it today, covered in oil, the box too, it is damaged and has already been used on a car! I am actually amazed at the stupidity that this has happened and that the seller actually thought they could do this and send a used oil filter to someone when they have charged what it would be for a new filter (as I was expecting). Thankfully paid paypal so claiming in process, but a warning to
  16. Ah Ok, considering my Glanza is black, I think i'll leave it but thanks for taking the time to settle my mind on what they were. (Mine has never had any on, so I didn't realise that they were there from factory) I get how the bolt caps are important though and make a decent difference. My Toyota can still get them in, checked this morning, but £5.16 each.
  17. Thank you very much. Do they just clip over the vertical parts in the bumper that I've outlined on the attached image then? If so then I really don't see the point of them and don't get what they're for? I was going to buy them but at £5.16 each unless they serve a purpose I think not, especially when the bumper is colour coded anyway..
  18. Can anyone share a real picture of one of these, I have no idea what the part looks like or where it actually fits but it is meant to be some sort of garnish / cover for the front bumper grill and there are supposedly 4 of them. The description on the image attached is 53141C (full part number 52127-10030-C0) when you search google for the image it doesn't show a real pic of one. On toyodiy it is: 53141C GARNISH, RADIATOR GRILLE 52127-10030-C0 BLACK, 040 , 1A0 4 $4.86 Much appreciated.
  19. I went for the gold plug from opie oils. Part number is AP-03. (Glanza)
