Description:

Little bit of history This car was originally imported by Starlet Legend Trevor (Ballymena) It was then owned by Peter Smyth, Ted and now myself. All of us are starlet enthusiasts who have owned multiple starlets in our time. Since import it has never had any other owners, and I think that is reflected in the condition its found in today. Not showroom condition but it is very good for a 24 year old car.

This is actually my second 4wd starlet that was originally imported by Trevor, at that time this car was owned by Peter Symth and I owned a black turbo ep85 sports select. The only reason im selling this car is I have too many cars about me at the moment and really must thin the fleet. I currently also have a ep95 turbo thats not for sale as i will continue to be a part of the community. That being the case I would love to see this go to another enthusiast but I wont be accepting offers just to shift it.

Since being imported in 2007, the car has run various specs ranging from the original ct9 to a impressive CCM forged race engine with standalone management and IHI turbos etc.

I have two keys for the car. All locks are the same and all body panels are original.

It is a UK Registered car, complete with V5 log book, UK reg and MOT with the DVA.

Reg is UKZ 4941

I have most of the previous MOT discs. The past two and a half years it was off the road so there is no mot for then.

To drive the car is great, it handles like a go kart as the suspension and geomtry was setup by a sucessful local rally man. The steering is very direct. The weight of the steering is very natural, not too heavy. The car launches in wet slippery surfaces with minimal if any at all wheel spin in first and no wheel spin at all in second. In second it will push you firmly back into the drivers seat. Its great on B road blast as its cornering speed is phenominal. The 4wd system is great to drive in comparision to the fwd starlets and glanzas. Ive had many over the years and do love them all but the 4wd is a rather special experience.

Comes with all the usual trim level goodies:

  • Power Steering
  • Electric Windows
  • Front Fog Lights
Its also fully loaded with factory options too:

Condition:

The car is in very good condition for being 24 years old. It has a few small car park dings down the sides & stone chips at the front. Nothing major. I have paint here for it as I had previously planned to repaint the bumpers and bonnet.

The car was off the road for two and a half years there and I have just rebuilt it and done 1000miles in it. Mileage will continue to go up as I am using it daily. Everything listed as new only has 1000 miles on, aswell as the gearbox rebuild.

Price: £4995

The thinmng about 4paws is nobody knows what they are missing!

A turbo'd one at 5k is cheap!

These are total night and day handling / grip wise compared to a FWD starlet.

And the short ratio box is unreal.

You also have the option to go RWD with one of these, rear LSDs are available, so are fully built strengthened and widened rear axles with disc brakes 8)

I've put on about 8000 miles since I put the advert up. Everything mechanically is perfect on my car. Also since the advert unfortunately the roof lacquer has started to peel. I've done some research into it and the only proper cure for it is to have it painted. Given that the car is 25 years old and enjoyed every day the body work isn't perfect.

I've given this some thought and I'm willing to factor in a respray.

I would do it cheaper aswell if say you didn't want the wheels and coilovers.

Over all you could end up changing to a 4x4 for not a lot of cash.

I value my wheels at 250 and coilovers at 500. I'd say a respray would be atleast 1k. I have other wheels and suspension there that would get you home.

So all that considered and a bit of money off for good luck and travel I'd let it go for £3000!

This is a total bargain for a 4x4 turbo and I'll be sad to see it go.
