Looking to forge I have a question

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I have a 4efte which came with my car I haven't looked at it much but the story goes.

The chap had new forged Pistons only fitted into the engine but never replaced anything else (sounding suspect already) then once fitted back in the car it sounded rattlie so they removed it and fitted the old engine. So if this is the case I'm looking to remove what's in the engine get new bearings and forged rods and build it correctly. My question is with forged rods do I have to modify the base of the bores on the block to allow for the bigger rod. A friend said he may of heard this so felt best to ask before I go to mad

Thanks guys

there is only 1 forged piston that fits oem rods so is possible usually on gt rods and around 1.3/1.4bar

you will have to measure bore to cylinder clearances ( measure piston .measure bore ) and notch the block if your going forged conrods

and pm back

which piston is that 5e colin?
