What loom to fit fte into my SR

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

In the next few weeks I'll begin to put the 4efte into my Sr. I have read on a few threads that it would be easier using the correct loom due to pin outs.

Would it be the 98 spec loom i need?

Thanks

You will need a loom from a pre-face or facelift Glanza.

Depending on whether your SR is 96-97 or 98-99.

If you have a early SR get a early Glanza Loom.

Looms are different layouts and go thru the firewalls in difference places.

You will still need to change some stuff.

Clocks, ecu, column and stalks, fuel pump wiring. from a Glanza too.

Thanks for fast reply.

It's an S 99 so guess I'll have to go for the later one. There's a fella selling few bits with a 98spec loom in a bundle, just waiting to see if he will split so I can buy the other parts I need 👍🏻

You don't need to change the clocks stalks column fuel pump. I just changed the engine loom and ecu, soldered a few wires and it was turbo'd. As far as I'm aware all the SR models are 98spec. I'm yet to see one that's got the 96spec loom. So yeah get a face-lift loom. Or post a photo of your under bonnet fuse box with the lid off and I'll tell you if it's the early or later loom

Ok. Comparing pics on google I do have the 98spec.

So I've now sourced a 98 spec engine light loom (does come with interior loom but I'm not going to bother fitting that.

Cheers for info guys

LukEP you have a build thread?

I don't. I've just bought an SR to swap everything from my turbo'd CD, the SR is a 98spec and CD is 96spec but I'll be changing everything if the dash loom is different between the 96 and 98 specs. I'll let you know as I'll probably be starting it the morrow.

Nar old school me.... outside in the snow never did anyone any harm. Yeah I'm using an 4efe as well. 4efte are overrated :) you can get good power from the fe and they're readily available compared to the fte. I've got 3 spare fe engine if needed and a set of fte pistons. Cheers

The 98 spec ones were cut up to hell. I'm going with 82 loom, ecu and engine fuze box.

Good idea, you'll only need certain parts of the loom. Just add on the bits the NA loom is missing, knock sensor, coil and igniter etc. You won't have to use the full GT fusebox.
