mr_K
Hi everyone ive had my glanza since 2011,I done a forge rebuild in 2015 and ever since ive had this annoying tapping and rattling sound,Ive tried numerous times to diagnose it but havent got anywhere.Ive tensioned the camshaft sprocket, checked valve clearances and adjusted a couple of them, checked the camshaft for any damage but nothing was found, its getting annoying now as i drive it daily to work.My engine specs areWiseco pistons,Scat rodsAll acl bearings including big endAnd the head was just cleaned relapped valves and put everything back in order.I want to map it soon but i dont think a mapper is going to touch the car with that noise from the engineTheres a video of it idling and im giving a few revs.https://youtu.be/nzeTp7GHzlA

goldenvtr
Yes ive seen yours,So your did turn out to be shims,How did you change them and where did you buy the correct ones from? yea mine was the shims, i was fortunate enough to have a spare head and also all the shims i needed, i did buy a couple from maddox - he might have some left if you message him i took all my measurements and removed the cams to change the shims. long winded but worth it i also soaked the cams in brake clean and air jetted them out just incase of an minor blockages Edited July 16, 2017 by goldenvtr
mr_K
I got a spare head too and also a few from a 4efe engine but i dont think any will match,I guess i have to measure all the spre shims i have and then go from there.Cheers
