iamkierram
Does anyone know if there are any backboxes are still being sold in the UK for Glanza's? I've tried to find one but the Nur Spec S is no more for the Glanza and the only thing I can find is the Buddy Club Spec II full system. I don't want to import one if I can avoid it! Shyam
http://jp-carparts.com/toyota/partlist.php?maker=toyota&type=121150&cartype=10&fig=1702 305 USD. Toyota dealerships import parts for jdm cars themselves and then sell them at extortion prices. Best bet is to either go aftermarket, find someone breaking a Glanza or fit a starlet N/A backbox on lol
iamkierram
I missed out a key point there, I meant aftermarket not OE haha. I'm struggling to find aftermarket as well though!
Shyam
http://monstermotorsport.com/catalog/product_info.php/blitz-mt2050-toyota-starlet-nur-spec-p-751 This is the cheapest brand new Blitz Nur Spec back box I can find. You can hold out for a second hand one to come up. I did know someone selling one cheap but not sure if it's still for sale. Will find out for ya.
iamkierram
I've already looked into this one, it's only up to a '95 and they don't know if it will fit a '99 spec, they did do one specifically for the Glanza but Blitz discontinued it!
Shyam
ah snap, didn't even notice that it was ep82. You could weld ep91 hangers onto it and weld end pipe to back box. A garage would do it for like 30-40 quid. Theres also this one from idworkz: http://id-workz.co.uk/blitz-nur-spec-s-exhaust-backbox-glanza-ep91?search=back%20box%20ep91
Shyam
Alternatively, you could go to a custom exhaust fabricator and get one made for much less. Have it it made to look similar to Blitz Nur Spec if that's what your after.
Mk3 silver gt
Try eBay bud I did see a blitz nur spec s on there yesterday
iamkierram
Tbh I've been on this for weeks trying to find a backbox and I've been toying with the idea of a custom box, I just don't know where to go. It seems stupid to fit a whole exhaust system on a standard Glanza just to get a bit more sound out of the car.
iamkierram
Thanks for looking for me, but I'm trying to find something new for it, I'm being picky I know, haha

If you want it purely for the sound then back box is fine but if you want to help your car breathe better aswel with the sound then go for a full system. With custom jobs, best bet is to google local exhaust fabricators and check ratings really.. Edited October 5, 2017 by Shyam
daniel_g
Starlet specific backboxes are getting harder to find on their own. Best bet just picking up a random jap company backbox like hks and getting hangers welded on. I have a 5zigen border 304 here for a GT, have kept it for about 5year as didnt really want to sell it
iamkierram
Yea the ones that are round my way (custom exhausts) aren't the best so would be a trip to Sheffield to get one, £250 which is a hell of a lot cheaper than importing a £430 back box over haha. maddox710
What exhaust system is on atm? Pretty most of the exhaust arnt interchangeable.
iamkierram
Just the standard, it seems there used to be a few boxes that were made to fit this by just bolting on but they've stopped making them!
StuDoc 72
You can normally get a full japspeed system on ebay for about £350 but dunno if times have changed and whether they are still about.
iamkierram
i'll have a look around and see what i can find, i haven't seen any so far though.
starletezy
Import from japan simple
Gainzy
If I was you I'd go for a straight through custom system 2.5" louder, lighter, best flow. I have heard the japspeeds are quite good as Stu above says. I run the buddy club spec2 it's a very angry note on boost.
Ollieh17
Used to be able to get a Japspeed from anywhere between 99p to £200 on ebay. Definitely better off getting a whole exhaust system. I had just a backbox on my when i got it, snapped the standard exhaust in two eventually
iamkierram
I’ve been struggling to find a Buddy Club tbh! Turns out the ones for sale on Monster Motorsport are faulty hence the low price. Looks like a custom might be the only option!
Starlet__SR
They need to be tweaked to fit. I was after one many years ago and couldnt find one of the originals that fitted. You're better off going custom like I did. STG performance or CGR automotive come highly recommended.
iamkierram
Awh thanks for that, I’m struggling to find a well recommended company I’ll have a look at these two now!
Ryncewind
Tonybanks or Keltec, Both in Leeds and both highly rated, I was quoted £350 for a full 3" mandrel bent stainless exhaust from the decat back with a custom backbox by Keltec.
federalman
Personally I'd get a full system, by the time you've got a back box made to fit you might as well just replace the old 20+ year old system with a stainless one. The car will breathe better and it'll sound nicer.
