BAZ2CRAZY
Ive attempted to adjust the ignition timingOne way stalls the car and the the other brings the rev up slightly (im talking 1-2 degrees)Ive tilted it clockwise towards the car so it slightly brings the rev up, is this to double check the right way?Mitch

BAZ2CRAZY
Thats brilliant, it does feel alot smoother, but didnt know whether i was imagining it.ste91: You know the distributer cap? well that is mounted on a plate which has two 12mm bolts going into the side of the head. loosen them off so you can nudge it either way (the bolts may be seized from heat).Once loose get a feel for it rotating it backward and forward (1-2 degrees) rotate toward the front of the car and it will stall or struggle, rotate it back and the revs should slightly pick up(on tick over), this is the way you want to adjust it.Also, mark the plate the dizzy cap is on before you do anything, should it fail you can always move it back to where it was.Mitch
Danturbo4311
Use a timing gun/strobe light & do it properly set it to 10degrees btdc you dont want to mess anything up on the ignition timing to much advance could give you det. which could cause you to crack pistons or blow head gasket if its to retarded you will lose power & it cause it to hesitate
