clicks of when it did that time are here.

ive watched that vid loads of times and looked at the revcounter, and it looks like an amazing low lag track setup.

in that tune hes getting 250brake from a high flow ct9 + 5e combo but the delivery of power looks so smooth

does anyone know of the engine specifics of whats actualy in a jam engine. or more interestingly the specs of the cams they put in this 5e.

or more importantly the spec of the hi flow turbo? it uses a jam actuater??

that

is

sick!

i never would ave thought it was running a ct9 !!

anybody an idea how much boost it was running on? as known a ct9 runs out of air above 1 bar..

highflow ct9? other word for hybrid?

shame they didnt race (evo vs JAM) sounds like the jam glanza had troubles with the brake cylinder master?? and from the look of the brake pedel he almost had no brakes lol!

either way that jam glanza is pretty mental, i'm sure the hybrid turbo has been worked almost to the max of the ct9 housing. so quite a big comp blade and perhaps a 360 trust bearing?

i'm sure you know marks glanza (www.glanza.co.uk) well he sold it onto my mate, and that seems to have quite alot of jam items and hks so can only imagine that the person who built the car in japan had influence from the jam beast. he has some high lift hks cams running is his but i'm sure jam would have put in some high lift variations of there own so the turbo doesnt spool so silly hard and die out perhaps shifting the delivery to around 4k full boost?

also the ecu my friends car is running is a custom mapped original ecu... so the stock 4efte has been chipped in japan (possible by jam) so again i'm sure jam had there own ecu in but mapped alot more aggressively then any other 'stock' jam ecu.

yea i have starlet bible at home but its all in squigly writing.

highflow ct9? other word for hybrid?

i hi flow turbo is differnt to a hybrid in that only the waistgate gets board and compressor wheel modified to flow more air.

thats a hi flow turbo

a hybrid in the true sense of the word is when you start using different compreessor - turbine, shaft wheel combinations.

im thinking is this figure is possible on a hi flow turbo(like the gt spec) i wander what a td12 would be like on a 5e like that!

Rob is right about the Jam Glanza going through different phases. Also when it had the 4E in it, it recorded a 1'04".865 round Tsukuba. Still awesome. It's definitely my favourite Starlet ever made, does anyone know what has happened to it? Do Jam still own it or sold it on?

In my bordem today and interest in Jam cars I did some trawling of the archived files from the Jam site and came accross a whole host of stuff I never knew about them..... unfortunatly there site becomes unaccessable after Oct 04 due to a formatting issue i think, which is when pics of the 5e Glanza start appearing....there is a whole host of stuff hidden in the past of there website from magazine articles to them working on customers cars passed a good few hours it did....if i get chance ill bang it all together in a post.....but for now i did manage to pull this off though when it was 4e spec straight from the jam site when it was actually for sale

ah it mentions k1-200v turbine... so the high flow ct9 must be running one of blitz's turbine wheels making it it's hybrid variation or it's just running a blitz k1 which would make more sence

some crazy shiz those japs and some of the parts going in to those engines are mint! wish i had such a spec'd glanza <_<

edit: Also done some digging and according to the Aus site Toby (toytuning) ran a blitz k1 and made '202@ wheels with the pfc f-con, all at 1.3 bar'

so with a bit of a push and the 5e, high lift cams etc 250bhp i think is toatly achievable

ive found a 5e block and im trying to replicate the jam engine but with the use of a td12, it would be mint to know the lift and duration on the 250ps 5e.

I know nothing about cams but does this mean anything

High cam KIT IN EX250°-8.5o lift

from the above spec when JAM built customers engines?

Link to post

yea those are some specs, but those cam specs are pretty mild

with 250 duration and 8.5 mil lift, speedvison is 260 iirc with 8mil lift

id imagine the 250ps glanza had some where between 272 -282 with 8.5 plus lift on inlet and outlet but cant find the magical specs anywere
