With a clutch it comes with a 12 month warranty. And the garage or company that fits it. Has to replace the clutch. And claim the money back off the company they got the clutch off.

I asked them What If the clutch is faulty and they said they have to send it back to spec for them to inspect and I have to wait for a replacement which could take ages

If the clutch has a broken spring. You will see it straight away. So there would be no need for you to wait ages

True mate, will have to get it booked in with Tim @ tb and get the box off unless td can book me in ASAP and do the car whilst I watch that Sounds fair.....

They are trustworthy guys mate, you don't need to watch them :)

I have had a couple of teething problems and spent nearly 3 times what you have, keep it behind closed doors and sort it with Mike, it will get done!

Ya, I have to agree with Matty, I've dealt with Mike before he's offered me advise on my afrs and given me target afrs for my car to fuel safely, and has gone through it all carefully explaining it to me. I can't help but think things are getting blown out of proportion and a bit of Chinese whispers is occurring.

Really think it should be dealt with fairly and like gentlemen before harming the reputation of a long serving specialist company. Fair play if your annoyed but these things happen... It could be a horrible coincidence or just bad luck who knows!

I'd just take mike up on the offer let them check it over give it to them for a week so they have the time to really see what's wrong and things aren't rushed as we all know what happens when things/people are rushed!

Anyhow, I hope you sort this man and I'm sure TD will ensure your car is back to standard ASAP.

Best of luck, Toby.

It's not about how much u spent its about how they resolve the issue after spending the money once the cash is handed over

It would not have got to this if only mike had said to me yh it could be the release bearing or clutch or it might be ure input shaft bearing, but he was adamant that it was 100% the shaft bearing and that I would be wasting my money if I got them

To take the box off and it came out not to be the release bearing or clutch, that right there made me think, that's when I started getting opinions off a few other starlet specialists who all said what I thought, that's when I drove down to Tim for him to have a look in person I even told him to take it for a spin but he goes no need to I know what's up with it.....

I know nothing is certain untill dropping the box but for td to tell me it's 100% the input shaft bearing made me think like they didn't want to do the work under warrenty, as u can see they take on a lot of work load and only one man does the work

Am not on here to slate no company and am sure td are brilliant guys which they are but this has got abit to much for me and as a last resort I posted my feed back which is why the feed back section is for :)

well said toby,

honestly redline you should drop the "let me see with my own eyes stuff" and just let TD deal with this issue in a normal manner.

you say that the only reason there is a problem is because of the conflicting advise given but they have offered to have a proper look at it in this thread.

so your would be better moving forward with that now, see where you get to, and leave more feedback afterwards.

i can see why your annoyed but your situation is only ever as good as how you deal with it.

I cannot leave the car there as I use it as a daily,

Am going to weigh my options and if it don't go back to td it will go to another starlet specialist.

Tim @ tb is local to me so more then likely will be using him but then I've got the problem of my warrenty being void if someone takes the gear box off so am stuck basically.....

Best thing to do I'd say is leave it with them. Let them look at it and repair it if its the clutch or release bearing. If they deem that its the input shaft bearing then go elsewhere and let them do the work when they get the box off you will find out the real truth.

As for Phil and telling him to drop the attitude. I'd be the same having spent that money. I can't see the car but by the sound of things it doesn't sound to me like its the input shaft bearing so I don't blame him for being skeptical.

And Redline Mike replied to me earlier in the thread saying that he did not tell you the warranty on the engine would be void if you removed the box. You wont know until you let them check it so you are hardly being cooperative. What if your car genuinely broke down? You wouldn't be using it as a daily then and continuing to drive it isn't doing it any favours. Give it down to TD see what they say then start complaining if you dont think it is good enough.

going.

in.

endless.

circles.

everyman and their dog has now had their say, in what is essentially a private matter between the customer and TD. From this point on I'd prefer it was dealt with privately; Mike has been active in the thread, meaning they aren't burying their heads in the sand, meaning there is no further need for this thread to be open save for folk to share their opinions on TD based on, wait for it, this thread.

Thread closed.

Phil.
