Bilal
coilovers r the best way indeed and yes they are very expensive. If your getting springs get new shocks too for best perfoemance.D2 coilovers are good and reasonable price a lot of the people of the sight have them. I myself went for the teins.Take it you drive an sr?

Guest daveburwash
I sell D2 coilovers
potge
However it`s my opinion to postpone the purchase currently and get new coilovers Tein, D2`s, Buddy Club, Jic, Cusco i dont know which (although i believe tein are the best of all). However if you insist you can try find a some used ones cause (new) coilovers and cheap are contradicting terms (although in the long term they tend to be cheaper ). My third solution would be to try improving the handling by other stuff rear anti roll bar, strut bars, panhard rod, anti-lift, new bushes, a setup in the camber toe-in(out) (you will need adjustable camber plates-top mounts but its a minor cost). Especially the setup can surpisingly help you.and some more siteshttp://www.tein.co.uk/ (TEIN)http://www.d2racingsport.co.uk/ (D2)http://www.okuyama-go.to/products/ (carbing and some more mostly for chassis tuning)http://www.jic-magic.com (jic magic although starlet is not mentioned there was/is produced a coilover for us) OR http://www.jic-magic.co.jp/f_index.html (if you prefer japanese)http://www.buddyclub.us/ (buddy club)http://www.cusco.co.jp/english/e_cont.html (cusco)http://www.zep-rm.com/partslist/Parts_top/...op.new-zep4.htm (zep rm)http://www.whiteline.com.au/ (whiteline)http://www.rd-tanabe.com/ (tanabe)http://trdparts.jp/english/ (trd of course of course)I am sorry if i have forgotten any company although i believe this are the most important. Some sites might not include starlet however products were made and if you mail them they will probably confirm so if not you can find it somewhere else or go to other product

Raffi
How much does the D2 coilovers cost, cant find any prices on their homepage. And how can i adjust the hight, minimum ride hight and maximum ride hight?
lobotomy
As with all coilovers you adjust the height by screwing up/down an "adjustor ring" (for want of a better description) along a threaded tube:Thus going lower will compress the spring a little, and raising the car has the opposite effect. In the pic above, the adjustor ring is the purple bit in the middle of the coilovers(touching the bottom of the coils).Coilovers are really meant for track use, as you can if needed for a certain track raise/lower the car to suit. For a road car you'll probably just pick a height that suits you and stick with it- unless for shows you wanna slam it that extra bit.
gaz
i love d2's mmmm that colour is fu*kin nice!also mate coilovers dont really help handling on bumpy road as it makes the car skip.
potge
i love d2's mmmm that colour is fu*kin nice!also mate coilovers dont really help handling on bumpy road as it makes the car skip.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I believe are making a slight mistake coilovers can be adjusted both in height and bump rebound so probably on bumpy rods if you add more height and soften it it will handle even better.(ok if you have coilovers with 15kg/mm it wont happen but most coilovers spring rates are near the lowering springs spring rates)
gaz
i was just remembering my old friends scooby with teins and he used to complain about it jumping on really bumpy roads when going round a corner.i wouldnt know i guess because i aint got any.thats all.. fair enough. The height can be adjusted on the D2's without adjusting or affecting the load on the spring. This is where many people go wrong with them

Sparky
i had -40mm pi springs on mine and hand;ling felt really good for the cost (£110) but recently i smashed my back axle and wen i changed that i put my D2's on the back and what a difference. I've been driving around like that all week but now i have put the D2's on the front but havnt drove it yet!! cant wait!!! just ad new tyres too which shuild make a difference.D2's are defintiley the best coilys for the price, i got mine from impulse performance but they were on offa at da time. sorry dont no their url.It says on the box for trak use only and they r very stiff but i lyk it lyk that. if you dont mind a bumpy ride and like goin up on 3 wheels round corners en go 4 it!!!!!Cant w8 to get a nice set of 16"s on er nw shuld be even sweeterSparky
