AdamB
Ay the Synchro's themselves aren't that expensive, but I do believe the gears are quite pricey.

Scott-EP
cheers guys.. Anyone got an idea of how much of a job it is to replace them? Worked in a garage for many years but we don't touch gearboxes.. I guess its only nuts and bolts and washers and cogs and seals and bearings and oil in this case haha
AdamB
Providing you lay everything out the way it comes out the box you should have no problems

yaristurbo
Taffy did a LSD fitting guide
morgey
Theres an aweful lot more to it than fitting the lsd.You will need gear pullers and a hydraulic press to get the gears off and on. Loads of fiddley parts to go missing. If you do it logically and make note of what goes where it will be fine. Try taking pictures to remind yourself how bits go.This is the 1st to 4th assembly. The selector arms come out easily enough and the gear sets come out but to remove the gears you need a gear splitter and a puller. You then have 5th gear that has to be removed before you can even get to this. When can be hard work on it's own. The selector hubs alone consist of about 6 or 7 parts that need to be put together correctly or it won't click into gear properly either lol Edited February 4, 2014 by morgey
daniel_g
I do gearboxs occasionally and they can be a bit of a cunt.If you provide all the parts youre looking about 300 max id say on labour for somewhere decent to do it.
