Its whoever YOU are happy with...

If your not happy dont use them, simple??

Getting to the point of knowing who you are happy with is the problem.

by then your 5k worse off and its too late.

can happen either way, as proven by you.

You are happy

Starbuck is not.

Same tuner. different results. (apart form your engine being wrecked by the sounds of things thats similar)

I have a issue with my crank bolt yes,

I took it to a local garage to check out and they have told me that the bolt has damaged the threads in the crank,

I have spoken with mike ref this and the car is going back to him to be inspected and sorted,

This is providing the other garage is telling the truth,

Again mike has been helpful and kept in contact through out the period,

As far as i see it, when you start changing things on a car and nearly tripling the power out put things will/do go wrong or cause a problem? You cant expect any car that has serious work done to it not to cause other areas that are standard to always last?

Again TD are sorting the issue i have and mike has been very fair and honest about the situation,

Jeez what a shit time you've had Marc, can't believe that very little evidence was provided and no common ground was met.

It's one reason why I always stick to the philosophy of " if you want something done, do it yourself".

I personally have never had any problems with tuning developments,

The customer service I have received has always been the best I've ever had from any company (not just car garages)

Any time limit I have been told mike has always stuck to.

I travel a 200 mile round trip and would do it again any day, the workmanship I have always received has been brilliant and mike has always sorted me out.

If you take a look in the feedback section you will find people that don't have a good word to say about Ricky at race-tech but at the end of the day he probably has many happy customers (socks for example)

At the end of the day there is always going to be somebody that you can't please

I do feel for you mate about what has happened to your car

But I just thought I would give my two pence on tuning developments as there's to much slagging off going on here at the minute

Lads, yous are missing the point completely.

Starbuck said in his first post that TD have many Happy and unhappy customers nobody is doubting you exist?

So why are suggesting that there are no real unhappy customers?

you think there is happy customers and hard to please customers? this what businesses always hide behind.

starbuck has had TDs work fail. not other parts, their engine.

At the end of the day there is always going to be somebody that you can't please

That is a totally daft summary Jim*, simple fact is you cant please people by failure you can please them with success.

a) you pay money everything works great = your happy

8) you pay money everything falls apart = your not happy

If starbucks engine was running sweet for years but he was making 5hp less than someone else with identical spec and he complained about TD then he would be hard to please, but thats not the case.

Thanks Phil. I think some should read the full post properly.

Yeah to be fair to the guys Im often guilty of not reading a whole thread before posting and I also hate slagging threads especially of traders.

But there is fact an fiction.

some customers builds work great Fact

some do not Fact

I've no doubt TD would rather these failures didn't happen at all, and I hope they go on to improve and get better rather than just bigger.

Quality Phil and yes people are missing the point, I had my issues at the same time as Marc and you will probably guess that I will not be returning as like Marc I had a bit of a mare. But I have moved on

The only person worth talking to for engine builds is Tim @ TB Developments (MR2/Toyota specialist) he's a trader on TGTT, he's rebuilt more 3SGTE's than probably anyone and his work is second to none. Speak to him if you need any mechanical work done, just about the only thing he doesn't do himself is mapping.

I've used TD for the past 2 1/2 years and aint got one bad word to say about them! I couldn't be happier with the work they have carried out on my 4e! ! Always helpful and willing to help! Will never take my car anywhere else for tuning/engine work!

Theese things happen and NO ENGINE IS THE SAME!! Problems do happen its the way it is! Im sure TD were very helpful and willing to go well out the road on all the problems!

Everyone on this forum you'd think to be experts on engines/tuning! Last time I checked it was TD/racetech ect that were the experts!

Give them a chance! Problems to happen we are all human! And engines are never the same as the next! Especially If hand built

Yeah problems do happen, and if your paying £2000+ for an engine build they need to be sorted ASAP, no excuses

With the amount of money you guys have put at your build I would hope that you haven't had issues. TD were helpful in the first instance but in the second instance past getting it checked were not and that's the way it was. Like I mentioned in my write up this was my experience and may not be anyone else's.

Why do people who have bad feedback not come forward sooner? If it's as bad as people say then surely you would mention this to give the rest of us the in site into workmanship this is the whole point of feedback weather it's good or bad it's gives the rest of us a good idea of the tuner!

can i just add that i have had an experience similar to Starbuck's. Mine was with the 'interesting character' (for lack of a more preferable term), that is Dave and Darren Burwash of

ex-trader TM Developments. Shoddy workmanship, horrific customer service (being threatened over phone), and god knows what else.

sometimes people don't want to put negative feedback on here as they just want to recoup as much as they can and just forget the whole experience ever happened. i think i lost 2 years off my life expectancy over it.

What's the 'interesting character' about??

basically speaking ill of the dead is what he is avoiding.

Dave was a great guy no doubt definitely did alot for the starlet masses back in the glory days, but he would also argue black was white if it suited him.
