dwoodco
I work for vauxhall but am looking into buying a glanza turbo, another lad here has an S reg glanza and he wants £500 with 90k on the clock (obviously doesn't know anything about them) so I've offered to take it off his hands, it's completely standard and just wondered what mods I should do just to have decent power to keep up with cammed 106 gtis, cupra R ibizas etc. Read something on here about a TD04 turbo conversion from the Ct9, does that involve any major changes like pistons manifolds valves etc? And is £500 a good deal? It's not in the best condition but am planning to make it mint. Any ideas anyone?
dwoodco
Oh and it's got an MOT til next feb
Matt1878
£500 for a Glanza is silly cheap.. You should be keeping up with the likes of those on the standard ct9 turbo with minimal mods really. TD04 conversion:TurboManifoldDownpipe Aswell as all the supporting mods to run it safely without popping your engine. Can be ran using stock internal wastegate or you can weld the penny on the turbo and run an external wastegate/screamer pipe combination..Have a look in the WIKI.., there is a guide to tuning the ct9 and also doing the TD04 conversion
dwoodco
What kind of power am I looking at on standard turbo with minimal mods then? And what kind of minimal mods do you mean?

Matt1878
Well power to weight is fantastic in starlets.. Evo's, scoobys, skylines need to be up 400bhp to be keeping up

Turbo Goose
Welcone buddyThats silly cheap for a 98 spec glanza! What colour is it? If its red ill be down there asap to snap it up vefore you haha
dwoodco
Haha it's like a dark grey ish colour I think
Matt1878
Dark Grey? Has it had a respray?... Not a stock colour for a Glanza that's all
Jamie5414
Welcome Are you sure it's a Glanza V and not just a S? If it's £500 then it will most likely blow up after a few 100 miles or need a ton of work. You don't see cheap cars without a catch, ever
dwoodco
Yeah mate I got you, but for £500 it's one of them situations where as soon as you buy it you give it a bit of TLC full service fresh brakes new exhaust new wheels and tyres, should be okay. Bit of a stupid question but what's the difference between a Glanza V and an S?
dwoodco
Could have had a respray, I need to do abit of investigation HPI check to see if it's been stolen or written off
dwoodco
A lad from work was saying his mate had a Glanza and he cracked the head, and had to have one imported because he couldn't get one from anywhere, cost him a fortune
Jamie5414
S is a non-turbo 4efe engine, the V is the turbo 4efte engine. Yes I would agree with doing a HPI check, if it's clear then a good bargain, just give it a good look over
Matt1878
Glanza V is a 4EFTE engine (turbo) Glanza S is a 4EFE engine (N/A)That's a load of tosh.. Glanza heads come up quite a bit. Full engines too really. Waste of money if he got a Glanza head imported!Must have been resprayed if it's a Glanza cause they don't come from factory in grey.. WhiteBlackMoonstone (silvery blue)RedBluePictures would help if you have any
