Well the corolla needs a new rear shock so im now using the starlet as a daily which isnt something i like doing as i have a short drive to work which isnt good for the engine. But new shocks are enroute so should be back in the bus in no time :)

Anyway got round to respraying my trd strut brace, got a plug for my fan switch, only took 18months and i had an old loom with one on it the whole time, its the green plug below the dizzy.

Right well after a fairly hectic weekend of booze cars booze and more booze, i got my corolla back on the road running drag spec with the stock rear springs i then continued to rip the exhuast off the starbo fit the new hks manifold RARB and have a cat fitted to my current exhaust.

Well sat i got the rolla done and the exhaust off then had to wait till monday to crack on with the exhaust on the ep well hours down the garage later i finally had it back together slightly raised at the front and nice and quiet for track on tuesday!

Heres a few pics of it all

And finally the reason most this was done, track time at snetterton only a novice taster but was good fun, could do with better brakes ideally

Sinc fitting the 4-1 mani and cat I've now lost the intake bark i use to get at 4k rpm but hav alot more topend intake roar instead, also seem to notice the vvt working more now aswel, so a noticable improvement i think :)

Hi Mate, your car looks awesome bud. i love the 4age roar.

I'm toying over the idea of doing this to my Glanza S

Will the 4age 20v bolt on to the N/A 5 speed box? from what i've read, if you keep the gearbox mount and move the engine mount on the left you can still use the normal drive shafts.

I've see this on ebay,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Levin-4AGE-Engine-20v-20-Valve-Silvertop-/160901813200?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25767ed3d0

comes with everything i would need. could i still use my N/A driveshafts with the levin box?

sorry for all the questions.

Cheers bud :)

From what i can gather you can use the starlet box if you swap the bell housings over, otherwise i think the turbo shafts will fit if you use the turbo hubs and if you postion the engine over to drivers side (cutting the drivers chassis rail) I've moved mine the other way only cutting the passengers side but every mount has been modified on mine.

If you do it the other way the gearbox mounts, front and rear, might be usuable and stock shafts MAY be usuable aswel

And no levin shaft are bigger size (maybe the same as the turbo)

Hope that clears it up abit and feel free to ask any more Q's :)

Right since going on track at the end of august i haven't used my car all that much due to cracking a disc and it making a horrible noise from the RARB all the time.

i attended JAE, santa pod for jap show and did the miss banzai tunnel run (thinking about it thats about 600 miles of driving :s) but other than than its barely been used, and this is why.

A63CB90E-9E32-4C87-AEE7-E9AB55FE0F8C-3619-0000040A852A7BB1.jpg

not too bad but, probably not advisable to be driving on!

So after a bit of deliberation on whether to just replace what i had or upgrade. I decided that rather than suffering the same fate again i would upgrade, and this is what i ended up with. (along with a hole in my wallet) lol

WMS 277x25mm kit

ferrodo ds2500 fast road pads

earls braided lines

should be getting fitted this weekend if all goes to plan :)

I've also got myself a 2nd bonnet for a more direct air feed onto my throttles which currently looks like this. its awaiting a coating of chalkboard paint

16252DC7-C845-4227-9D5C-4448D1DEAB51-3619-0000040AA3E79012.jpg

Its not going to be the prettiest thing in the world but its going to be a function over form bonnet and ill still have my original one for when it needs to look good :p

I've also got a friend making up a replica set of SR decals using an original set i purchased i while back. its costing me but since the OEM ones fade really easily i thought id have it done :)

this is a test one, he should have sorted the spacing between the two tear drops now.

318775_10151063094406829_1498040791_n.jpg

So when they're finished ill get a good shot of them up and if need be i can have more made up, if people are interested :)

So for this weekend the list is.

Paint bonnet

Fit WMS 4 pots

Regrease RARB

Strip paint off of speedlines ready for respray

will Update with progress next week or once the brakes are fitted and bedded in.

Have a funny feeling im forgetting something else but for now this will do :p

Edit: remember i had an accident on the way down to the MB tunnel run. quite funny really, my friend just had a mugen lip all flushed onto his EP3 and after less than a day its damaged and he was all grumpy and moaning about having no luck. whereas i have a bump with a car on the m11 and i dont even get a scratch mwhahaha (someone slammed there brakes on infront of me after squeezing in infront of me coming upto a junction)

anyway that was it i was rubbing it in my mates face all night

comments welcome as always :)

Yeah i did think about doing it properly but its all money and as my wallet took a hit from the brakes im doing it diy stylee for now. If i get the front end resprayed ill have that finished and done at the same time :)

As for the decals this is the bonnet one which is as it is in this pic (the left one is the OEM sticker)

Im having the side ones made with the cut out but with a little fill in to stick on the rub strip, but he can make these without the cut out aswel. He should also be able to do different colours aswel! :)

Test fitted one this evening, going to have to remove the heat/dust shield as they sit incredibly close to the hub, not sure if the custom work i did to the hub meant it sits closer than normal but they seem central in the caliper so guessing its just how they are!

eitherway here it is only hand tight at the moment, but will be fitting them properly friday :D

Update time!!

well the brakes where a bit of a chore due to my old heat/dust shields being rusted to hell and back so drilling the bolts out and cutting it up was the old option.

old rusty!

B5241EE1-38D9-4AAE-B32F-F9EC60F6BFE3-6674-000008A2E3AED3A0.jpg

F7CBDAA4-6E79-4A44-BF45-A49C46012EEB-6674-000008A2DD36A852.jpg

then i wasnt happy with the distance between the disc and the hub, this is probably due to the custom work I've done to the hubs for the different stub axles, so i attacked them with a grinder to give me a smidge more room. like so

how it was

after the hubs got munched

Much better :)

Soo

Brakes are on and bled through with Motul RPF 600 and being bedded in, pedal feel is epic compared to before so hopes are high for the new setup!

Big thumbs up to Keri at WMS for sorting me out with them :)

old setup was

glanza 256mm x 18mm ebc grooved and spotted with yellow stuff pads and custom braided lines and cheap dot 5.1 fluid

new setup

WMS T20 calipers, blank 277mm x 25mm 54mm CB discs(Corolla stub axles) Ferrodo ds2500 pads earls braided lines and above fluid!

And in other news, some people will have seen, she's been on the dyno again, this time i no longer have a speed limiter and now have some other mods. here's the old and new spec's and the graphs with old in red and new figures in blue

Previous setup was-

stock intake plenum and trumpets

obx 16v manifold, 2.5" decat exhuast.

Fidanza flywheel,

factory speed limiter

Current setup,

75mm trumpets itg sausage filter

hks racing manifold heat wrapped,

3" sports cat

2.5" cat back

fidanza flywheel

Delimited

Lost a bit of mid range but gained top end.

Rather close for my liking, so its now parked up on the lawn again, only reason i didnt park there last night was my gardens pretty much water logged so didnt fancy churning it up but fuck that it can get ruined for all i care lol

Also found my window seal had popped out but im getting a new windscreen soon as mines cracked :(
