You were looking at the A048's not the ad08's ;)

Back on topic, these are only £102/pair ;)

Thats a cracking price, where was that from? Id consider these over the AD08's just for the £24 saving a corner lol i found demon tweaks had the for 50+ vat and delivery which would make them about £62each.

Exactly man! I was set on Advans before I saw the price and feedback on these! Try Tyres-Pneus online, prices recently went up because it's in season

I'm currently running federal 595 rsr tyres and they get the thumbs up from absolutely unreal and can get them for about 200 for a full set of 195/50/15 it was either these or the nangkangs and I went for the federals and I'm glad I did👍

Only bad thing is I've heard things about them delaminating when they're about done with but mine have been fine so far on 1100 miles and 1 trackday would recommend them 👌

Heard from quite a few people that those aren't too good in the wet

I didn't rate the 595's in the wet when fitted to my E46.

A friend of mine recently bought a set of 595's to use at track days rather than wear the Kumho V70's he uses for racing, but back to back saw very little difference in times over a dry lap.

R888's at 67 a throw

V70 are quite pricey aren't they?

Good price on the 888's there, is it true that they go off after a few laps on temp?

^ Yea sidewalls go abit iffy. I think the only tyre thats going to be awesome in all aspects is A048's but you've gotta ask yourself are they worth the extra money etc etc.

Think I'm gonna give the Nankangs a try, wanna try some dunlops too actually.

Providing you manage tyre pressures the 888's are fine, especially on stuff as light as the Starlet. The heavier the car, the more they get worked, and yes they'll go off, but over work any tyre and they'll do the same.

Yeah had my first expirience in the wet with them today (cars a toy doesn't really get used that often as I have a daily) and yeah they were not that good but in the dry weather and the stick they got on that trackday (deffinately overworked them) they have deffinately proved themselves to me for the price of them I cannot complain i would rather have tyres that are great in the dry and reasonably priced than ones that are great in all conditions but cost a small fortune but that's just me like I say mine doesn't really get used in the wet it all depends what you want the tyres for really

  • 4 weeks later...

Had a pair fitted yesterday and initial impressions are awesome!

They inspire so much confidence from feel alone, makes the old Rainsports seem as thought they were made from jelly!

Haven't even scrubbed them in yet but I'm very happy with my decision to go for these over Advans ^_^
