standard shocks vs afttermarket shocks

Recommended Posts

Right sounds a bit odd ive bilstein front shocks in my car at the minute and they are fairly stiff and bumpy and I don't actually like driving it at the minute. It actually feels like ive two solid bars connecting the shock to the car

my mate called up today in his glanza v he has standard shocks and the same springs and his car feels so much better has a decent about of movement and is comfy on the road not bouncy all over the place.

now im half debating taking these front shocks out and fitting my springs into a standard set of shocks will be new front shocks and new rear shocks as well will they last is what im wondering ive been looking at kyb excel shocks and these seem to be the best at the minute been gas shocks not oil ones

I have new apex springs with new Kyb excel shocks & it's feels spot on, the car is not stiff & not to soft great for the roads, only thing I wish was that it would corner better around bends but to solve that it would be coilovers.

Gas shocks are better at absorbing small bumps but overall a little stiffer at higher speeds.

Kyb excel-g would be a good replacement as they are gas equivalent of standard

that's why im wanting to for gas shocks instead these bilstein ones are fairly stiff even on the smallest of bumps and going over speedramps they are solid

im going to shop around see whats the best
