Wings next in for paint. I would do it all at once but with the available space and time frames its just not possible.

Drivers wing had some poor repairs previously to be rectified.

Had new arch liners and all new clips. Surprisingly managed to buy all new clips off ebay for under £10.

Did and oil change while the bumper was off as it was convenient.

Also re-blacked the lower front panel.

Wheels were next. If you look closely in some photos, the fronts always looked a dingey washed out white. Not sure whether it was brake dust over the years or the top coat paint had faded or taken abuse from heat cycles.

Also the V in EVO was non existent.

Went with a couple of evos and a Glanza. Very wet day, altho hats off to those who still made the effort as there was still a fair few cars. However most of the day was spent in the museum staying dry.

I had started having exhaust issues a few months back when i removed the front section. I sorted the blowing flange in the tunnel, but later ran into a more serious issue.

The back box decided to disconnect itself from the centre section. Not a problem, new nuts, bolts and a flange and it will be good. However as youll see from the photos it will need a repair out of my capabilities.AAD31D2F-9A9A-4FBA-9B8D-6256F94A44FD.thumb.jpeg.fa72161bc6d6ba4a2dbfae8d73cda7eb.jpeg62CF3209-05CA-4385-BD19-4384593DE63C.thumb.jpeg.20f9dc94997ded49ce6369334f57a141.jpeg

the flange has kinda warped. At this point it was either, repair, replace or get one made.

George had his old system available so opted to change for a little while.

A kakimoto system in good condition.

That pritty much brings it up to date. Various things in the pipeline at the minute and the car is currently looking the worst its ever looked :(

Well then!

its been nearly 3 months since my last update and there has been allot of work going on.

The car has been sitting around at work waiting for the Christmas period for work to commence. When it came, I practically spent every day of the shut down period at work. Couple days off for Christmas and boxing day, then one for new years day. Otherwise i was flat out.

Here is the last photo before the car got pulled apart. :(

Having painted 60% of the car, the last stage required glass out and doors off so it couldnt be planned around just a weekend.

The plan was, strip down, paint the shell, doors, side skirts and wing mirrors. New windscreen, roof gutter trims, windscreen rubbers/ seals and door scrapers.

So the strip down begun.

New gutter trims that ive had hanging around for this day for about 2 years lol.

Picked up some 98 spec clocks. Colours work allot better with the car ect and they generally look much better than 96 spec ones. 5998C1C9-BED3-493D-88E0-1549A93143D8.thumb.jpeg.6d386df99f76f39140f38920e0bc0c0c.jpegBad photo but you get the idea35C573EA-2619-4696-A64A-DF846A517F63.thumb.jpeg.1b95b230efa4f769c5180354ffaaa672.jpeg

Off to dean at RW for a new exhaust, just wasnt sold on the kakimoto and with the 4 point lower brace it made sense to get something made to suit the car. Nothing too loud with some jap styling.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - stunning!  Quick question, is the 'clear' brake light in the spoiler a 98 spec thing?

Thanks mate! As far as im aware its just a ‘98 thing, but the car came with it which was a bonus lol.

However i have wondered whether there is a crossover point on ‘97 models as there are some aspects of the car that hint ‘98 spec like the bent indicator stalks but with the fog light still as a switch.
