Sefton-EP91
I was always told 5-40 fully synthetic! I'm sure the filters are the same aswell!

geofreygachie
I did minor service on EP91 and i have noted that in the morning the bonnet vibrates unlike before. The only thing i did was use flushing oil since the engine was filled with deposits and instead of using the synthetic Toyota 5w 40 w i used Shell 15w 50W mineral oil since i intend have a comprehensive service in less than 2 months time.Could the oil be the problem ? patman
Is 10w 40 semi thicker than 10w 40 fully that may sound like a thick question so please forgive me, only reason I ask is I use 5w 40 fully and when the car (have a GT turbo) is in heavy traffic like a few weeks ago on a bloody hot day, I could see from my oil pressure gauge it didn't like it, oil must of been getting thinner and thinner and everything was getting hot due to sitting in heavy traffic on a very hot day in town thanks pat
Starlet__SR
I use 5w30 in my GT. Its had it from new according to the jap service history.
Avinash Trance
I use MOTUL 4100 TURBOLIGHT 10W40 on my Stock on. And yeah the Motul 4100 is a semi synth
slo7899
Why semi and not fully.
Ollieh17
Older cars werent really meant to run on fully synthetic. Some oil can seep past seals
patman
That goes back to my question above ages ago is semi thicker or is fully thicker?
Starlet__SR
Semi is thicker. But fully offers better lubrication. Have a quick google. Semi is better for higher mileage engines as it tends to fill the gaps a little better.
