  1. also have to take the cambelt off and remove the cam gear from the crankshaft. Might as well replace the cambelt, idler and tensioner as well if it hasnt been done recently.
  2. Fan turning on when it gets to temp? New toyota waterpumps do feel like they have some resistance when new and dont just spin freely like a normal fan. Had a smiliar issue a while ago and turned out to be a blocked radiator.
  3. check trans fluid this morning and its pitch black so ordering new filter, sump gasket and oil tomorrow and will flush the tranny
  4. Cheerz, yea its auto. Will be doing a full service on it in the next week or 2. Just need to find a new passenger window but here in Perth, Aust these are extremely rare and parts are almost impossible to find.
  5. Yea whatever, don't have the time to deal with clowns. As you were talking about pointless crap. Goodbye
  6. Hi, I just bought a nice ep71 turbo s today thats all factory and unmodified. Its got only 72000km on the clock but it has been sitting for 5 years as the owner lost his licence for drunk driving a 7th time and received a 5yr suspension lol. Anyway car starts up fine but idles at around 3500rpm when in park. When in drive it drops to around 2500rpm but when i try to drive it, its quite sluggish and barely moves but once it gets going and shifts to 2nd it runs sweet. Could this just be that it needs a good service, some fresh oil and filter and flush the tranny and replace the transfilter
  7. Would hardly call that a gt in a music vid. More a vid made of a gt playing loud music lol
  8. Yes you could be lucky and it will work great but if you unlucky and it fails and it causes the death of your engine then do you think that cheap cost now is worth the cost of your engine in the long run?? Do it properly once.
  9. Ah yep, my cars sitting in Stu's garage at the moment getting some work done
  10. Welcome. Starlet scene at one point was quite good in NZ but over the years with everyone in the country going drift crazy its dropped drastically lol. Still a few enthusiasts around but not many go too crazy. If you do go down to Pukekohe raceway on their open days watch out for the black ep82 with the plate EP828U, that's 1 of 2 ep82's in NZ that have ever run into the 11's on the 1/4 mile. I'm now living in Aus, scene is a lot better but only on the eastern side, Western Australia is just full of Holdens and Fords haha. Check out www.starletcentral.co.nz if you havent already.
  11. Well not new to joining up, signed up quite a while ago but never introduced myself. Anyway I'm Garreth from Perth, Australia.
