Hi. I'm unable to post in the wanted section, so thought I would try here. I need a set of wheel arch liners for my 1998 Glanza, front and rear. Does anyone have a set for sale?

I checked and the speedo cable was connected properly. So I thought I'd take the whole thing out and see if there was anything preventing the dial from turning. I removed some of the dirty grease from around the cogs and spindles and put everything back. Took it out for drive and it now works, so am well pleased. There must just have been a bit of dirt stopping the top set of spindles from turning.

A bit of a long shot, but I don't suppose you still have the car and would sell me the instrument cluster, as the odometer on my 1998 glanza has packed up.

The mileometer on my glanza is not working, but the trip is. Can that be a faulty cable if one is working and the other isn't? Is it more likely that I need another mechanism (if you can actually get them replaced)?

Any advice gratefully received.

My son and I are planning to refit the engine and gearbox in our  1998 Glanza. We bought the car as a project with the engine and gearbox already out. There must be a fair few of you who have done this, so welcome any advice / tips you may have to make it as painless as possible! Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your very quick reply. Yes I was planning to get the head skimmed and will get new head bolts as recommended. As far as I know the engine is standard although it does have a front mounted intercooler fitted. Do you think an OEM gasket will still suffice?

Good evening all starlet owners. This is my first post on any type of forum, so bear with me...

I'm the proud new owner of a 1998 Glanza V in bluish silver - quicksilver. I bought the car a few weeks ago with the engine having been removed as the head gasket has gone. Unfortunately, I don't have a pile of cash available to fully forge the engine etc, so for now, will just be replacing like for like to get the car back on the road to enjoy. 

I have been advised that I should install a multi-layered steel gasket but wondered what thickness is best? Tuning developments offer 1.2mm, 1.4mm or 1.9mm. I was thinking of going with the 1.4mm.

I assume a thicker gauge gasket would be more reliable, but welcome any advice members can offer me.
