Sam96V
Advice please, 96 GLANZA VIn mostly cold starts it misfires for about 5 seconds before running on all cylinders and never misfires again. Also when I've just parked up after driving and go to start it again it takes a little longer than usual to fire up.I was thinking coolant temp sensor maybe? All the ignition system is brand new, plugs, dizzy, rotor arm, leads.Any help would be appreciated
Ryncewind
Done a compression test?
Sam96V
Compressions fine
patman
I would check the coil next mate things like this you have to go through bit by bit 👍🏻
Nafeez2125
After the coil i would suggest checking your battery and alternator, because if your battery doesn't have enough juice it can cause the misfire on start up and long cranking. Start up uses a lot of current.
Sam96V
Battery is new mate, so is the alternator. So it's either the coil or coolant temp sensor I'm thinking
Nafeez2125
okay.might be the wiring, do it step by step, before buying a coolant temp sensor check the wires form the sensor to the ecu, sometimes it just snap
Sam96V
Cheers bud. Will do
Sam96V
Replaced coolant temp sensor, turns out it was basically snapped. Made it alot better but still missing... Going to try coil next, are they easy to remove?
Nafeez2125
So your coolant temperature sensor was snapped? or the wires? coil is quite straight forward to remove. 3 bolts on the firewall and 4 philip screws.
Sam96V
Yeah, basically the plug was coming away from the sensor, as soon as I touched it, it fell to bits 😂
