Kev's EP91 Glanza Rep Build - HOW TO DO A 4EFE CLUTCH CHANGE

Recommended Posts

Here we go then, been meaning to do this for ages but never had time to! Read so many on the forum so time to show my progress!

When I bought the car for pocket change it was a solid project. Hardly no rust, a longish MOT but lots of miles on the clock, but I was very happy. Shame the interior was disgusting.

First thing I done was obvs clean it and set to fixing the speakers which someone broke and replaced with awful eBay ones.

Then set to fixing any problems I could find. And I found a few! The whole rear brakes and wheel bearings were gone so replaced them. Also done the front ball joints cause they had it too. 87E38DD8-5064-45CF-A3D4-9A95B05B0241.thumb.jpeg.cda5347064bb336b4c4bf8a5a10f8167.jpeg67CAF58B-9DDA-4E36-A4B7-6B73B6BEF005.thumb.jpeg.1e5bc0072095d96644c3bd680a6a38d0.jpeg3FE5261E-DED4-416D-8018-A3AE08A63116.thumb.jpeg.4bbe5f69c6250f6b2eb6aaf2b5cafc3a.jpeg

Once the summer come along I wanted to sort the rather faded paint work. Being red it wasn’t the best. Must say it improved the car 1000% and also had the side mouldings taken off at the same time.

After that I got the windows tinted and wind deflectors put on and I was well chuffed. But I was after a better looking front and rear, so managed to find a lovely glanza bumper with rear lip. After a lick of paint and a mornings work it looked the nuts 76E67DC1-F268-4CC0-8C66-FB91CB13C17F.jpeg.84ee0067e72be749e03f909d373b9eca.jpeg

The front bumper was a steal and it was the same colour so win win! D479D16F-CC03-44D7-9EA7-BA7251E4185D.jpeg.9203621325330d3b36d565b1cdcd8852.jpeg

After that I finally managed to get rid of the horrible granny interior and get a set of glanza front seats7BB026D4-B038-46B4-9AF4-13BF5FA5EE64.thumb.jpeg.ed3ac08ab89bce36ffbf625fd700e2af.jpeg

and I think that’s it! I’m sure I’ll add more at a later date when I remember! Just glad to share my pride and joy with you all :)

I’ve finally managed to get myself a set of these bad boys! :yahoo:01FD1665-8EBB-4E22-8DBB-DA8783A0F52E.thumb.jpeg.1c3440b91c293b4f0c03d8f1feb80a93.jpeg

Picked them up, dropped them at a mate, and should be picking them up soon after they are refurbed! The colours nothing special but it’s gonna set the car off big time I reckon 8)

Managed to get the cap stickers too they look unreal can’t wait to get them on!

Apart from that the passenger main beam ain’t working even after a change of bulb and check of fuses so that needs sorting. Any help would be appreciated.

Also going to JDM Castle Combe so looking forward to that and meeting loads of new people and starlets :D

The guy I bought it off was so sound, proper genuine bloke so fairplay to him anyway.

I'll see what I can salvage and go from there.

And a number plate surround. I've been after one for ages but the thought of wiring it up seemed too much hassle. After looking on here I found a bloke who had his smoothed and thought I'd do the same. Looks the dogs I think!

Had my spoiler painted at the same time but didn't get enough time to fit it but hopefully it'll be on for japfest 8)

Car has the MOT this week so just getting a few things sorted to make sure it passes.

Sorted the main beam. Was a corroded socket at fault so a new one wired in and bobs your uncle.

Washer jets needed clearing we should be all gravy :p

Got a few more things to do when it passes before Castle combe so watch this space!
