Start of engine mods began also ,beginning with det3 with plug and play loom. Followed with standard turbo manifold with restriction removed from cylinder 3 runner. Then fitted one of my spare glanza power steering pumps along with pipes and brackets

Bit more time spent preparing for turbo fitment which included removing one rather crusty sump . For replacing with a spare turbo sump and matching pickup pipe

Then it was time for the drilling of the block for the 4efte oil filter housing. Must admit I wasn't looking forward to this. 😦

Took me a minute to suss out what was going to be the best way of drilling these. And decided to insert copper pipe into filter housing holes to act as a guide to drill straight holes for studs.

Also measured depth of one of my turbo block holes which was approx 23mm. So checked threaded part of studs that were being fitted approx 13mm . Decided I didn't need to go as deep as oe . So settled on 19mm depth for clearance used a bit of tape on drill bit for depth gauge. Worked well just need to open them out and tap them tomorrow 🙂👌

More progress , although it is kind of a backward step at the same time🤦‍♂️

Firstly finished off where I left off with tapping the holes for the oil filter housing

Ok so my ocd kicked in , the inner wing at the passenger side was annoying me . While I was repairing the recent crossmember damage the inner wing was annoying me . So gluten for punishment I cut this front end off a local car . So that decided I was replacing inner wing , slam panel and complete crossmember also 😲

Almost ready to weld on front section now which includes chassis leg and inner wing at n/s/f. Which was from a previous repair that I wasnt keen on. It's been alot of work and hours already but hopefully have the front end ready for paint. I will let the pictures do the talking

Bit more final tweaking and alignment checks along with trail fitting wings and bumper before welding it all up , thank god
