Hey guys. Haven't posted a build thread as there hasn't been much going on really since I bought it, just the basic maintenance(timing belt, full service ect). Its only on 43k. Never failed an MOT yada yada. I've got plans to turn this into my first go-kart, with a big emphasis on doing things properly, not just for the cars sake but to also help further my mechanical knowledge. But, I've recently made the first big change. Wheels and tyres.

The wheels are Bridgestone Beats Pro. They're 6x14with 30 something offset. No scrubbing issues. Tyres are Toyo Proxes TR1s, 195/45. I've felt a massive improvement over stock and I'm sure you can agree the wheels suit the subtle look I'm aiming for perfectly😎

I am still very new to this, so any advice is appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you all better (and your cars of course!😂) Thankyou for reading!

Thankyou mate. Yeah it is. Can look different depending on where the light is. Nice colour to be honest. Did you ever get yiur mini disc player sorted mate? After we had the flip up headunit chat and I figured it was a no go, I've just left the standard one in lol😂

Same colour as mine. Know what you mean, mines partly sun faded to light blue metallic but depending on the lighting conditions it can still look quite purple sometimes!

The Minidisc head unit I have has a failed display so not the best for trying to figure out what's going on whilst driving, I'll keep that for home use. Might do as Burty has and get a working mobile player and then I can connect it to a mechless head unit via aux in as well as mp3 on sd card. bluetooth etc. Still currently rocking the original Toyota tape deck too!

Looks great this can't wait for the updates really like the subtle look on the NA rather than the glanza route

Claymores is a perfect example on how to do this and I'm glad your going down the same route

I'll have a read through your threads and your profile mate. I'm keeping the tape deck for now and using a tape to aux converter lol😂. One thing that's always confused me is the fact it has a cd button, but when I press it nothing happens haha.

Thankyou mate. Coilovers and other suspension first. Different to all my friends in the car scene, most just want to be low and slow but it ain't my style. Also, not a big fan of reps at all, weather that be wheels or the full car lol😂

Ive not got many to be honest, let me have a dig through and I'll see what I can find. I'll grab you a photo of the tape deck mate no worries! The oem and oem + is something I've come to love because of my boss. He collects Escorts and is so anal about every tiny aspect. I'm not that bad with it yet lol, but I just think the retro original look is cool.

Thankyou for that mate, I've messaged the guy. If I can get a cd player in it I'll call that a happy medium. After all, a cd should have a cd, right? Maybe it's been taken out?

It's a no go mate, he's after 200 for it and considering I can just whack a normal Bluetooth in for less than that, I can't justify spending it. I'd rather it be 200 towards coilovers

Wouldn't have known where to start without the early pm's we exchanged. Thanks again for all your continued help sam😎. Hopefully I'll soon be a member of the 6speed club

Your welcome.

With afew selective mods these little light cars come alive. And can to tuned to compete in every area of proformance. The 6speed club. These guys know what they have and how this box allows them to compete with some serious hp on the street/circuit's.

Also there are only a few lads running the turbo cam in the history of the starlet. It's going to be good to see if the tubular inlet affects it's topend power ability. These 2 together should create a rpm range of pulling power. Enjoy.

As we've spoken about before, if I find the rolla manifold to be too restrictive, I'll seek out a turbo manifold. Trial and error I suppose

What 6 speed will you be running? The c160, c161/c162?

Nice build you have going. Especially like the color, have though about spraying the glanza in the same color(since getting a prefacelift in the correct color is near impossible now).
