no oil to turbo

Recommended Posts

Went to prime new turbo and realised no oil is getting there. Took oil feed off and turned it over and no oil. Only driven it 40 milesish after ive done engine conversion. Is it oil pump fucked? Or something else? Would have thought engine would have seized. Would explain why old turbo died.

Help people.

Could be pump yeah or oil pressure switch (not sure if that stops the oil from pumping though so dont quote me on that) :( But if you took the oil feed off then there wont be any oil going to the turbo anyway lol!..Im gessing you left that on when you primed the turbo? but unplugged the oil return from the sump? like i stated to do in the guide i sent you?

Did you take it off the turbo or the block? Mite be the hose if its old? Only guessing tho, check under the rocker cover see if thats got a reasonable amount of oil in it.

Like you said after 40 miles i would have thought you would have heard a bottom end rattle by this point :s

Took rocker off and turned it over and oil then flowed out of oil return but the oil around the head is milky... headgasket is gone. Because i will take engine out what is worth doing rebuild wise? And where is best place to get parts and info? Also when the car ran before it was running hot.. pretty sure this was because of headgasket now?
