Eynonz
Ok so I tried looking on google and it gave no answer really. Just want to know what the LAW/MOT views are on the tinting of fog lights. What colour is legal, and what isn't? I assume that the yellow and blue tints arn't frowned apon because everyone has them, but I want to put a Purple tint on mine but not sure on the legality of it. JLF88
White and amber/yellow is fully legal, some cops will pull you for blue or any other colour showing to the front of a vehicle, but not the rear
Eynonz
Hmmm in that case i'm not sure it's worth the hassle, or I'll just test to see what the light turns out like.
JLF88
I was wanting to do blue side lights but I read a few motoring sites and the government one and it's one of those grey areas, but you don't really want unwanted attention from cops, some will ignore it but I've read of a few people who've been giving £60 fines for it
Burns9213
I've tinted headlights indicators and fogs and havnt had any problems so far they are quite dark during the day but when my lights are on it dosent affect the brightness much Edited February 20, 2014 by Burns9213
Will-Foxxy
Its only fog lights so should not be too much of a problem, just depends what the cops are like around your area. Like it was said before, yellow is legal but dont know about purple.
littlegreenmonster
Your front fogs dont come into an mot mate and only the drivers side rear does plus for an mot, you dont actually need a reverse light either (im working in an mot station and have just clarifies that with the tester here)
Eynonz
Well thanks for ya views, I haven't used my fog lights for ages, so I doubt I'll be cruising around with them on drawing unwanted attention. I'll give it a go
Eynonz
Ok I did them, was a real ball ache, and a far from perfect, will most prob try again in the summer with another pair of hands. Not sure what they are like when turned on as I forgot to plug fogs in when I fitted bumper back on *doh!*.
