*Pete*'s White SR Build (MR2 Throttle Body & Dyno'ed)

Recommended Posts

Got the car few weeks ago for 550 quid and haven't done any mods yet, yet I've got plans. Its done just over 128,000 miles now and does shows its history via the paint work but rust free underneath. Unlike my old cars.

Some pictures:

Already ordered some stuff but keeping quiet about it till I post it.

Plans:

Corolla inlet mani

Corolla throttle body

Some sort of exhaust mani and system

Refurb wheels

De-bump strip

Do something with the rear light either tint or replace

Possible glanza rear bumper and front maybe

Lower it

Probably come up with other things to do as I go along but need to sort the paint work out aswell.

Got bored today and decided to paint the speedline bit in on my wheels:

Then cleaned, clayed and polished it. Very smooth but still a little dull on the paint.

Little update:

Got hold of a corolla inlet manifold (thottle body was included) only £30

Sitting in degreaser and water mix to get the inside gunk out

Also when down my local scrappy found a 3sge mr2 so had the throttle body might convert the corolla mani to put this beast on.

15mm bigger than the standard 45mm

Nothing like trying to have a little experiment with this :)

Looks like you got a bargain there bud nice one! Plans sound good! I wouldnt have thought you'd gain anything with the MR2 TB but like you say theres no harm in experimenting :)

The thing is to mount the mr2 throttle body is the the bolt hold are the same width but not the same height so would have to make an plate and cut the normal one of the inlet mani. then cut the cone area to were suitable for the new plate to be welded on.

Little clean to day and new wheels only temp for now as the tyres are spot on unlike the ones on my speedlines which gave way. Dunno what to think of these wheels. Photo taken from my phone. Also managed to pick up a nardi steering for a fiver from my local scrapy. :D

Think the tps will halt your mr2 tb plan :/

Done a little research and little testing with a multimeter and it has the same resistance from sensor wire 1 to ground as my starlet one. as long as the starlet one is 5 volt feed then it will be fine and fourth wire (sensor 2) will just not connect to it.

So you are using a mr2 tps too? A 3sgte one or a 4age?
