Just a little update. I ended up putting the part num into amazon and got a kavo pump with housing off there, luckily enough my aisin pump that I've already sprayed the pulley on fits perfectly with this housing. also the aisin gasket feels much higher quality that the kavo one. cheers for the help everyone.

As the title states my water pump is locking up within the housing. The waterpump is a brand new aisin pump and I have 2 of them and they both have the same issue. The old pump that is being replaced is a gmb pump. I ordered another housing of eBay and when received it also had a gmb pump and once again the aisin pumps will not fit. I know people have come across this issue befor as I have found old threads with the same thing happening but there is never an answer to how they overcame the problem. I can't seem to find an actual part number on the gmb pumps that relate to anything I can find listed for sale anywhere. The only difference I know of between the pumps available for E series engines is the offset of the pulley on bolt and press type pumps. Was there also an offset change on the impeller? Any help on this matter would be massively appreciated as this is the only part stopping me putting the engine back in the car. Pics New pump Old pump Old vs new Housing. Finally have time to update this. The car came off the road mid 2014 after the coilovers shat themselves and a brake line burst. (the latter was my fault as didn't check clearance of the spare wheel on full lock). The car then unfortunately sat for the next year and a bit as cash was tight at the time. Towards the end of 2015 a friend said that I could use his garage to start working one the car. After getting the car to his we started by stripping the rear underside of the car, this was followed by many hours of using a wire wheel to clean everything up. We then treated and surface rust an put on a layer of fresh underseal. Once the undersealing was done it was time to move on to the rear arm and tank. With Polybushes in Tank back in place. My attempt to sort the glow panel Unfortunately the car had to then wait for almost another year befor any other progress was made on it as work commitment took over my life but the next stage was to drop the lump and start doing the front end of the car. Hey everyone I hope you all enjoy this read and I hope it also inspires others with there own project builds. First let's start with a bit about the car. The car is a 1991 MK1 GT painted in 6l2 blackish green. The car was purchased back in early 2011. When I first got it the car was fairly standard as far as I was aware as my knowledge of these cars was very limited at the time. Specs when I got it. Aparrently forged pistons on stock rods? (more on that later) Ct9a running 1.2 bar. (Aparrently running 180bhp. Don't see it myself), Hks actuator, Standard ecu with fcd an rrfpr, Front mount intercooler, Ssqv (f**king noisy thing, The vac pipe was soon pinched to make some chatter), Filter relocation kit, Cheap eBay mani and decat, Air-con removed, Oil catch can, Hks turbo timer, Blitz nurspec R exhaust. The rest of the car was pretty stock apart from momo steering wheel, Tein lowering springs and 16" compomotive M05's. That's all I can remember it having to start with but if I remember more I will update the list. Work I've done before starting the overhaul project. Fit ebc disks and pads all round, Braided brake lines all round, Zisco ram mani and decat, Exedy 3 paddle clutch, Poly bushed engine mounts, D2 coilovers, Polybushed front lower arms, D2 coilovers Fitted but hadn't got height set properly at the time this pic was taken. when they were set up better Mani Clutch More will follow later and I will start to go over what has been done in the overhaul which has been going on for the past 2 years as don't get a huge amount of spare time to work on this car but there has been a lot of work done and many pictures to go along with it.

Hey everybody, I've been using this forum for many years now taking advantage of the search function and scrolling through build threads for inspiration but never actually posted anything on here. So it's about time I introduced myself. So here goes. Hi I'm Matty, I'm 26, I live and work in North Norfolk around the Fakenham area. I work for a local agricultural contractor which takes up most of my time but when a do have time off I enjoy nothing better than getting the tools out or just going for a drive. I am the proud owner of a 1991 mk1 ep82 in 6l2 blackish green which was actually my first car I had on the road. I'v owned this car for about 6 years now. I can't remember the full story behind it but the car gained the name of snoopy shortly after getting it back in 2011. Shortly after getting the car After fitting d2 coilovers I am a very mechanically minded person that will always prefer to do a job myself than take anything to anyone else, even if that means going out and buying specialist kit to do a job, because of this Im also the person all my mates will bring there cars to. I am currently rebuilding my little starlet and a build thread will be going up shortly aswell. I've come across a rather awkward problem with it which will be explained better in that thread which I will also link back to here. (basically the water pump locks up against the housing) Whilst the starlet is in project mode I am currently driving the "daily"/next project that I purchased way too early. A mkIV supra.
