Good Shout Socks, That is something I had thought about, can you check by moving the external arm? Or does it ideally need the downpipe dropping off.

I think a decent controller would certainly help the stability of the boost, but unlikely to help the late spool.

Evening Team, Have one of my starlets up and running this afternoon but struggling with spool. Its a forged motor, td04 kit with external wastegate, ultimate ecu and turbosmart manual boost controller, gre Its very very slow at spooling, but does seem to boost ok when evenutally wakes up abeit with very poor control. Nothing until about 5k, and it totally flat below that. Also running quite poorly at lower revs, with eml light on. Now, I have had a look at the boost controller plumbing, which I think was incorrect, re plumbed with top port venting which is improved boost stability. But still very slow spool. Anything obvious I should be checking? Would an electronic controller help improve it?

Just read some notes on the engine, it has been skimmed 10thou Will clearance be ok with a .6 mm gasket?

Evening Team, I have a forged 4e running Ross pistons and a 1.4mm Gasket. The engine is making a solid 150-155 across all cylinder. All figures very close. However! I plan to run a billet TD04 and looking for max response. Considering swapping the 1.4mm Gasket for a 0.6 Gasket to try and raise the compression. However dont want to compromise the level of boost I can run. Will be running decent management and fueling. Thoughts?

Well, thought I'd start a thread for my Elise that I have had since retiring my Starlet Hillclimb car. I have had the car just over two years now, had a very successful year in 2014 winning the Northern sprint championship, the car having won the Harewood Hillclimb championship the year before. 2015 has been a pretty un exciting year with very little happening due to other commitments. I have a few plans in the pipeline for the car so will update when I get chance. First step is engine out for a check over and replace the clutch. WIll update with more pictures shortly
