Hi mate yes the engine light goes out its setup with a sandwich plate but im also get smoke coming out of the catch tank

Well ive just done a oil change and filter and its still flashing and reading 0 on the car dash theres no engine light or anything. So surely if there was a problem there would be something on the dash ? Aparrently theyre trisco gauges

My oil pressure gauge stepper motor is flashing and no pressure atall what could this be

Finaly got the car started but its smoking and the heat temp and oil pressure gauges are flashing at me oh dear lol

Yeah the inlet cam as 2small dots and the exhaust cam has 1big dot and 1 small dotif aligned if with the big dot as when I put the pulley on with 4e slot it works out to the dot with the head if that makes sense

I was told on here if the timing is out then the cams could be opening before the stroke making the compression weak but I did timing yesterday and it's 100% unless I'm getting the marks wrong on the cams which I don't think I have as the cam pulley wouldn't line up if so Just having low compression on all 4 cylinders

OK mate I'll have a look tonight but why would it not start if it is connected ? I know the gauge on the dash always sTayside at hot

Is there a guide for this ?

Would ignitions timing need to be done if the head gaskets been done

Need someone with experience and knowledge to have a look at Mt gt turbo I'm slowly giving up on it imay in St albans

Having issues to get the gt starting it's just had a head gasket done so does it need to be in diagnostic mode while setting crank timing ? Or only ignition timing ?

That's the thing I'm not sure what's the problems apart from its turning over and not starting it had a head gasket done and since then I've had timing problems which have hopefully now been sorted compression problem which was hopefully down to the timing being off

Ok i did have issues with timing before as it was being a nightmare to start do i have to do the dianostics mode when setting timing up ?

Im new to the forum but always looked on here as a non member im from hertfordshire i own a starlet gt turbo 4efte for about 7 months now and have driven it for 160 miles ever since owning it and it went bang loads of smoke and lost of power so i had to get recovered after having it looked at by a mechanic he said it was a headgasket which had been going before i brought it so it seems like i had got done over. so that has been done but now its hard to start and when it does it idles very low so i thought i would check compression which the readings are saying about 50psi thats with all plugs out but cold engine im really stuck on what to do as i havent had someone with experience on starlet engines being able to guide me im pretty hands on and know abit many thanks rob
