had this too a few times will be your car mate in my opinion i have randomers coming up to me in petrol stations etc just saying wow havnt seen one of them in a while and it just goes from there loads of poeple in my town know me through my car not me myself. if its like round here where im the only starlet for miles then people recognise me by my car dont worry too much for now he may just like starlets mate but dont be too trusting just incase

either way i know the gt's need basic emissions test which unless smoking their nob off cant fail so sorry for the misunderstanding david so its the gt's that dont need a cat test then

nah wasnt luck mate mines a 94 i know for a fact this law applies on all gt's but im pretty sure the same rule applies for a glanza but i do know for a fact that on mine i was assured no cat was needed

yeh it could go on lol so'll we'll end and agree on that last statement haha well said. i agree the starlets arnt the quickest thing in the world but for a little 1.3 with a small turbo to beat to 100 and keep up with the skylines, scoobs etc is in my opinion very impressive i think

yes and that box is a basic emissions test or in other words a pre cat test so i was right lol

it doesnt matter I've looked into it properly other jap imports scooby's skylines etc have a uk equivalent to match too. as starlet turbos are only jap imports and have no equivalent in the uk it isnt on the database so they cant run an emissions test on it hence the pre cat test is needed go down to any import tuning company etc or MOT tester who knows about jap cars and he'll tell you

its a fact though the vosa database doesnt have the gt's or glanzas on record so when they come to testing it they have to run an emissions test fail it straight away cause theres no info for it then a pre-cat (or basic emissions test) is performed which a powerstation couldnt fail quite frankly. so either way your going to pass lol

and also very very heavy wether people like it or not weight in a car does make a serious difference thats why say a saxo vts turbo could cream a hell of a lot of things on the road. serious power in a car that weighs fuck all. just got to make sure you can get the power down but it can be done

air con weighs 30kg i beliee and i highly doubt all rear seats, trims, spare wheel etc weighs 5kg as i said your looking at 50kg minimum weight removed

nah sorry ross going to disagree with you on this one i see what your saying and yeh its not my car and the work thats gone on is good but it doesnt look good at all. its nothing extroadinary as lew said its a corsa/saxo thing i wouldnt describe it as an art. i saw it straight away and thought yet another chav overly doing it with a bodykit again. the only thing on this car i like is tthe colour

hmmmmm well they do weigh fuck all already but removint the rear and air con piping etc your looking at 50kg+ more weight out which makes a difference scoobs evos etc are quick but unless heavily modded they cant pull on a well modded starlet that much. I've beat skylines, scoobs etc with a few mods nothing serious to 100mph but after that I've got no chance. thats the bad thing with starlets there awesome to 100-110mph then bigger engined cars start to pull a bit still though i havnt met anything yet except my mates 400bhp pulsar gtir that can pull away from me to 60 especially and nothing that can leave me to 100
