Eureekaaaa messed with the idle screw today, it seems that it was wound out that far that it was not doing anything. I wouned it in so that it was idleing at 900 rpm and it sits pretty much bang on so that is where it is staying, Simples :harhar:

Checked with camskill they do have 2 the one i need is £48 + p&p is a few quid short of Toyota. Anywho had a little development today i noticed my lower rad hose is not getting warm it is staying cold so i would think my probs are steming from a stuck thermostat. I will change tommorow and keep you all posted of the outcome. Need it ready for RCSC this weekend or the misses will have me nuts. I haven't even had chence to wash me supra yet kin ell

That makes sense, thanks for the link. The one at camskill is for models up to 97. Mine is a 98 do you think it will be the same because toyota quoted £57

Went in to toyota today and spoke to one of the technisions he said the idle control valve which has been described on hear has more to do with the air con so i tried puling the plug off while the air con was on and low and behold the revs droped. He said they recently had someone in with the same problem and it turned out to be the water temp sensor. I don't realy understand what the water temp sensor has to do with the idle, maybe someone might be able to shed some light ;)

Anyone with an ep91 turbo live in or around the hull area need to try an icv off your car before i buy one to make sure this is my problem. would be much appreciated
-
Where is that located and what does it look like bud this car i bought for the misses i have a supra so just getting to grips with these. cheers

Mine does not pop or bang just fluctuating idle other than that its as sweet as a nut.

Does anyone have any idea as to what causes the tick over needle to fluctuate. I have cleaned the i c v, put new leads, plugs and fuel filter on. The car is a 1998 bog standard 60,000 mile manual turbo ep91. The only thing i have not changed is the dizzy cap and rotor arm which i have just ordered from camskill. When i pull the plug on the i c v there is no change in the idleing does this mean it's nacked because it is starting to do my nut right in

cheers guys will have a fiddle

Hi, hope somone can help, i have an unsteady idle witch is realy anoying. The car is a completley standard 1998 EP91 manual turbo. It has recentley had new plugs, leads, and injecters cleaned. This was before i purchased the car. My question is , if the injecters are cleaned does the ecu need to be reset for the right fuel air mix. or do you think it is the idle control valve. If the ecu needs reseting does anyone know the procedure. Cheers
