Without sounding too stupid whats one of them mate?

As the title says really. I have a 96 Glanza with a custom stainless steel exhaust, its been on the car since i bought it around a year ago however for the last 3 weeks it seems to be knocking on somthing when ever i drive. I have checked that it is mounted properly and have had all mounts checked over by my local garage, all seems to be ok however it still keeps knocking. After failing on its recent MOT one thing that i thought may have an effect is the near side rear shock which needs to be replaced (been fitted next weekend). Could this be the route cause? Any advise welcome.

Hey, Just want to say thanks for all the comments, seems like a very friendly club. Not at all mate, paid £2,400 in the end. Good or bad? Yeah the rust was a bit off putting for me too but its only in a small area and with the overall condition of the car i thought it was worth the risk. I will get some pics up and see what you guys think. Thanks Steve, its good to know that i have someone close by with such an exstensive knowledge.

Hey guys and gals, Just wanted to say hi and show of my new Glanza, i was a member around 4 years ago when i had a Starlet GT but due to the car being wrote off, new job (company car) and various other things (getting married and having a son lol) i have kind of stayed away from the jap scene. However been itching to get another Starlet/Glanza for around a year and my time came last weekend when i finally got my hands on one.
