Plus not many here have played with these bigger turbos. Some people here have actually run both 2860 & 2871 and still can't give me an answer on characteristics. Really appreciate the insight. It's a lot of money to spend and make the wrong decision and end up with a pig!

Yeah I get your point Adam. Thanks for the reply. I really only built the car so I can piss off evo's and wrx's and v8s in the streets. I forget this was never meant to be anything but a sleeper. I think I'll just stick with the gt2860. Maybe I'll loose a bit up top but hey, I'll be on the road more than the drag strip.... 400hp is way above what I was hoping for. I was happy with 300hp at he wheels not bhp. If I get 350hp at the wheels I'd be stoked. Cheers for all the info and insight guys. I'll keep u updated on how I go.

Hey guys. Thanks for the replys. I'm the friend with the 71. I got moe to ask for me because I couldn't find where uksc went.... The reason I was thinking of 3071 was because people are saying the 2860rs and the 3071 with .63 or smaller housing will respond the same but the 3071 will have more guts. I'm a bit lost with these garretts. So many combos. A guy here in aust had a GT 2860 and a 2871 and says his 2871 was heaps better. Both .63 rears. I was originally going for the 2860 with .63 rear. I don't wanna spend up on the gtx series. Hoping I can grab a bargain as others upgrade and I can cash in on their old ones lol Should also add, I'm running e85 fuel, water meth for inlet temps and 8.6:1 comp ratio.

as the topic says, are the auto and manual diff ratios the same? I've got an auto im wanting to convert to manual. any help would be appreciated. cheers guys.

hi guys, I've just sourced a gearbox from birmingham and need to get it to australia. any ideas on who to contact or ways to get it here? its a bit big for hand luggage..... my parents live in central london so they can make the arrangements but theve got no idea on how to get it to aust. cheers for the help guys. paul.

mate in australia were too far and not important enough to anyone to get parts to. such a small market. if i cant track one down or get one for a reasonable price i might even consider a 4ag... setup with ae92 4wd box n stuff. we have them here. just gotta work out whats gonna work. either way ill have it running. i'm not gonna give up on it.

hey guys, i htought it was going to e a problem..... oh well. I've already got ep82 carpet in it but the tunnel is huge! it wont fit neat. i really want the orig grey ep85 carpet. thanks anyway. any ideas over in england where id source one? my parents live in london so might be able to organize transport. cheers guys.

Hi everyone. my names Paul and im from Australia. i bought myself an ep82 about 3yrs ago and since bought a white glanza v and an ep85 as well. at the moment i have 4 starlets but one of the glanzas is going to my mate as he loves it. ill keep the 94'EP82 black 5e, EP85 AWD white 5e, 97'EP91 glanza white 4e. im a member of austarletclub and joined here to get some help with finishing my ep85 off. in australia i believe mine is the only ep85 so help is hard as u could imagine. it was an auto so just trying to finish the conversion to manual and put the 5e I've built into it. your aftermarket support in uk seems to be quite good! my parents are living in london at the moment and thought it would be a good chance to get things from u guys over to australia. cheers guys. any info/advice would be much appreciated in my auto to manual 4wd swap. thanx guys.

hi guys, my name is paul and im from australia. I've just scored myself an ep85. the only one in australia in fact. im having toruble as u could imagine finding a gearbox. I've got an auto but is there another gearbox (manual) and transfer that would bolt up to my engine? (5e) i can get an ae92 tercel box and all but it looks pretty different. would the ep82 box mount to the ep85 bell housing? my bell is for an auto dont forget. any help would be appreciated. i also need carpet if anyone has grey lieing round..... happy to pay. cheers.
