I have bought a speedometer converter so that it reads as MPH instead of KM, anybody know how to fit one of these?

Help would be greatly appreciated! :)

All you need to do is unscrew the speedo cable from the gearbox, and screw in the converter to the gearbox and refix your speedo cable into the converter. It is a 5 minute job., and will remove the speed cut on your car too.

You are better off having the limiter removed mate as if you hit it too many times you can do damage to the engine. As long as you service it every 5000 miles or less depending how you drive it, you shouldn't have many problems with it. My old one never let me down once and it was my daily driver.

What the servicing or the speedo converter? i done all the servicing myself on my car, i refuse to go to garages and be ripped off with labour charges. One thing i will say is if you still have your aircon it is a bit of a nightmare as the filter is located ontop of the aircon pump. It took me 3hrs the first time i done it, the first hour was trying to find the actual filter lmao. I removed the aircon after that and it only takes about 15-20 minutes now.

Yeah the speedo is easy, if you look at your gearbox you will see i thick black cable going into the top of it. Unscrew this cable and pull the cable towards you, screw the convertor into the gearbox where you have just removed the other cable from. Then once you have screwed the converter in replace the black cable into that and you are ready to go. It will take no longer than 10 minutes and that is only if the cable is tight to remove, if it is just get hold of it with some molegrips.

You are the don mate! appreciate the help!

Just a few questions though, will i have to re-set the gear box or summit?

And the display on my car is obv in KM, will the dials re-set to 0 or carry on as it is? you get me?

You dont have to do anything mate, that little box is like a set of gears which converts your clocks to run in mph instead of kmh, you should have got a small sticker with your converter which says mph, remove the 2 screws from the top of your speedo surround, then remove the 5 screws which hold your speedo binnacle in, remove this and remove the speedo cable and 3 cables from the back of this and then unclip the plastic cover on the front of the binnacle and place the mhp sticker over the khm one. Job done and your car will read in mph.
