Coilovers or Lowering Springs

I have a non turbo starlet 1997 sportif. I am just wondering what would be the best option for lowering the car as I use the car as my daily so the car gets a lot of use. Would coilovers be the way to go or lowering springs on standard shocks? The road conditions around here in Ulster are okay but not amazing, there are some potholes at times. Also do the Glanza V coilovers fit the standard non-turbo Starlets such as my own?
