Are engine codes different on a EP82 GT TURBO as it is on a standard 1.3 engine?

I need to find all the proof i can for the insurance company to tell them that my car is a 1.3 gt turbo, there saying it was a 1.3 and someones spent time and money into making it a turbo

Any ideas?

Totoya say the chassiss number is a 1.3 turbo

If the chassis is 1.3 Turbo then the engine code should be that of a 1.3 Turbo, maybe there was a mix up when the car was registered or something?

Im not too sure see what other people have to say

Yeh your engine model will be 4EFTE rather than the normal aspirated one being 4EFE..

T hense Turbo on it!

Same as Celica's being 3SGTE and 3SGE.

If you need proof a if you give me your model and frame number of your car i could do a screen dump of the EPC info page for you on your car ;) if it helps.

Also you can tell its a import by the model and frame numbers rather than the uk spec starlets having full chassis 17 digits, tell your insurance company to sort it out!!

Check your log book. When it was imported it may have been registered illegally as a a 1.3 Starlet.

Out of curiousity what Insurance company are you trying to get insurance from, they sound like right prats!

The car is smashed up mate, its the woman that hit me insurance company saying my car was not a turbo

The car was crashed on the 28th june and still nothing!

Although i found out it was a cat b writeoff!

I have papers to prove its an import but not a turbo

There saying it was bought as a 1.3 and someones spent time and money making it into a turbo

sheekey should be able to help.

insurance, we HAVE to get it but we generally get a poor service... when we NEED it

I dunno if it would be acceptable as stand alone evidence but what about printing off the Starlet GT-Turbo Wikipedia Page..it would be good if used in tandem with something from sheekey

MMM....this is a tough one. Some where their must be information where the chassis/reg and engine code are linked up.

But, from previous experience of working in insurance - as long as you insure your car as a turbo then the other insurers do not have a leg to stand on. If this went to court, they would be forced to give you the money for the car as a turbo. So they cant do anything about it.

Their insurance company are just dicks to put it simply.
