Idrees
Mine gets resprayed every year since I've had it but I've only had it for nearly two years, so just two paint jobs.Check the oil every few days, I use my car every day for short journeys. Service every 10k or maybe more. Oil needs topping up quite often though, well only when I redline it, and I do that quite often!Mine is N/A by the way therefore made to get redlined to death, not quite the case with the Turbos! kyle_d
Resprayed anually you must have a fair amount of cash, or are you a sprayer? hahaha.I'm gonna get one I've made my mind up, quite a few people have said theyre not very nice looking and i could get sumet better.. but i dont want sumet luxurious and slow or fastish.. i want sumet fun, and i think they are quite nice looking. What psi does a glanza run at if its not been tuned? And how do you alter it?When i get one im sure it will be more than fast enough at first, going from a 1.2 corsa to one will be fun, so i'll leave the engine (modwise) and sort the handling, do you have to use coilovers or can you get lowering springs? because coilovers are a shit load of money! How much are anti roll bars too? Also, do all glanzas come with a LSD or just some or certain year models or what? as I've heard this makes quite a lot of difference to the handling. If i buy one without one, how much are they? Thanks very much I'm learning as much as possible before i get one so i can look after it well and know a bit more than i do now. Guest Enzo
What psi does a glanza run at if its not been tuned? And how do you alter it?hey buddy have a read at this here, it should outline all the steps to getting more boost out of the 4e-fte and give you a better understandingclickydo you have to use coilovers or can you get lowering springs? because coilovers are a shit load of money! How much are anti roll bars too?yea there are alot of supple lowering sprigs wi softspring rates that dont really screw up the ride from the likes of tein and rs*r. they retail for just over a ton.anti rollbars are roughly the same price,my advice would be to read this "real handling for you starlet" whiteline guide, it basicaly shows you what there is and whiteline are the ones that sell the arbmy daily drive just has a whiteline antilift kit and rear arb, with lower tie bar(all in £170) and standard shox and springs and it handles really goodyou can see the article here on the bottom leftIf i buy one without one, how much are they?quafe diffs are the daddys, just bought one for my red v. they are helical instead of disk type, meaning they dont ware and you dont have to use any fancy diff oil, they retail at just over £600for a normal lsd from the likes of kazz your looking at £450 plus hope that helps
kyle_d
Thanks lads. I know this is going off topic, but i may aswell carry on here now lol. Remember im a newbie to mechanical stuff if i sound dumb. The 4efte Engine which is in Glanza's / Gt's run 0.65 bar standard. Thanks going for a 1.2 shit corsa to a 4efte.. youll need to be careful or you will kill your self..I know i will have to totally change my driving style, not only because i will kill the car otherwise but as you say i will kill myself lol. At the moment my foot is basically constantly to the floor because the car doesnt know what acceleration is lol. My plan is to get a glanza, and firstly fix the handling then after a while add some more power. But i will hopefully be keeping it quite a while as the power is there, and can be added to. With the corsa, the engine is that small there's no point doing anything to it.. i'll just be wasting my money. of course you can buy lowering springs, coilovers are pricey cus they do the job propperly lol. anti roll bars varey..some glanza's do come with lsd's but not all.. a few folk put the lsd's on there cars.I'll keep my eye out when looking this forum is the place to learn EVERYTHING about these cars. stuck with something ask and some one will give you help!!Believe me, I've had so much help already! And hopefully by the time i get one i should know a decent amount compared to what i knew when i joined. Its very helpful here we are there to trouble shoot or any help required!!also we aint saxo knobs so we have a head start hey buddy have a read at this here, it should outline all the steps to getting more boost out of the 4e-fte and give you a better understandingclickyThanks, I've read that. Its very interesting, i dont think i will be altering the boost straight away though i will get the handling sorted first. Do the cars have a button inside the car to alter it from low to high boost? Or is it just low boost in 1 + 2 and high in the rest?yea there are alot of supple lowering sprigs wi softspring rates that dont really screw up the ride from the likes of tein and rs*r. they retail for just over a ton.anti rollbars are roughly the same price,my advice would be to read this "real handling for you starlet" whiteline guide, it basicaly shows you what there is and whiteline are the ones that sell the arbmy daily drive just has a whiteline antilift kit and rear arb, with lower tie bar(all in £170) and standard shox and springs and it handles really goodyou can see the article here on the bottom leftThanks I've just read that now, it is interesting and helpful! Now i have an idea of what i'll be needing, kinda. Is Whiteline the only company that does that sort of stuff? As theyre in Australia, is there a UK equivalent? Are there any alternatives for the yellow koni shocks, or which model do you use? As it only tells you the brand on that guide. Basically i could do with a list of half decent stuff and a place you can buy it from I guess i will need shocks, springs and the 'handling pack' but i cant find that for sale. So a decent rear anti sway bar, camber adjustment bolts + whatever else. Also, i doubt i'd be able to get them all in one go so would it be better to get the shock and springs or the rear sway bar first?quafe diffs are the daddys, just bought one for my red v. they are helical instead of disk type, meaning they dont ware and you dont have to use any fancy diff oil, they retail at just over £600Wow lol i'll just have to hope the one i buy has one if not i'll just have to leave that and buy the above and hope that works lolfor a normal lsd from the likes of kazz your looking at £450 plus hope that helps
Guest Enzo
idealy the only handling mods you should start off with are a rear anti roll bar and anti lift kit, once you have those on you can judge where you want to go from there if you want to lower or what not.and yea there is a wee hi low boost button on the dash
