4efte_ryan
hey gus have just aquired a (blitz ss bov the new style) of my brothers evo6 and atm the bov has the 1.2bar hard spring in it,, i need to no if the standard spring would be better? as i have got this aswell, my car is set to 0.8bar and also wanting to no if i used the hard spring im asuming it would cause more chatter due to not relieving the pressure as easy any help would be handycheers ryan
Glanza_cl
exactly what you said mate, depends what you want...chatter or no chatter?with the evo spring in it wont dump until you get around 1bar upwards of boost, so if you arnt gunna run that and want the bov to dump you will have to put the softer spring in it.hope that help mate
4efte_ryan
so if i were to keep the hard spring in the bov would the comp surge do any damage to the turbo?cheers ryan
Glanza_cl
naaaahhh lol, there is huge debate over the possible consequences but it's only air lol i personally i cant see what harm it can cause, my dump valve is blocked off and many many high performance cars run with no bovs, so if they can do it running over 1.6bar of boost through a huge turbo i'm sure the ct9 can handle 0.8bar of boost through it.some people will go argh it fucks up the bearing man! argh it's like the blades are hitting concrete from the pressure of the air coming back through the turbo! it's bollocks don't listen to them it will be fine
