mattgtt Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 hay guys! had just finished removing aircon and timing belt replacement when i saw this: Is this something that can be welded or repaired or is it new cylinder head?? it goes quite far round out of sight too! Cheers Matt Quote
AlexGTAdv Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 My mate had this happen to his, he had it welded a couple of times but it kept coming back so he had to get a new head! Try getting it welded as it may work but be prepared. Quote

Wantaglanz Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 i have this on my one, i sealed it for now and it seems to be fine. Quote
OWEN Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 the best way apparently is to remove the stud and metal that is missing and properly load it up with weld all the way back the machine it back to its original form, legthy but stronger Quote
Dave@TM-Developments.com Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Who told you that Owen :harhar: Quote
Ricky@Race-Tech Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I've welded a couple of these now, if its an expensive head i.e. ported etc then repair it, sometimes its cheaper and easier to just get a used cylinder head as it has to be removed anyway to do a propper job. Quote
