Cigarette Lighter & Digi Clock Display

Hiya peeps! On my freinds Diesel starlet (1995) the cigarette lighter and the clock display in the middle of the dash have stopped working. He asked me, and i asked him if he has checked the fuses and stuff he tells me he did but still doesn't understand. Upon asking him what does he think caused the problem he told me that he tried to install a CD player inside the car because when i sold it to him i took mine out. And after he attemped to put the radio in and failed the clock stopped working? Did he blow some wiring lol or just disconnect it. I'm hoping to have a look for him today(maybe)

Any ideas whats up with that?

he may have disconnect some wires when installing it just tell him to wip it out and have a quick check probly just as simple as that
