High Pitched Kinda Sucking Whistle Thing

super high pitched whistle from air filter. just fitted fmic and thought it was a leak. re clipped all pipes n put some new silicone joins in some parts aswell. no boost loss but a high pitched whistle. took filter off n ran mesh for a twenty sec drive up road. mesh stopped the sucking noise. sounds like danes at that track day. is it normal?

Maybe it's a small leak around the air filter? Only guessing as you said it stopped when you removed it. Just have a good look around it for any holes!!
