Exhaust Sizes

I've currently got HKS silent-hi power, straight through system which i think is 2 1/4 inch diameter..

im thinking of getting a custom system made with a 2 1/2 inch diameter..

what are the advantages or disadvantages of having a bigger exhaust.. the car is currently running td04 at 1 bar..

think the one I've got now is 2.25 inch and the flexi needs doing so just thought i might aswell get another one made lol.. what difference would it make to the noise as its abit loud already
