steed
right well now i've gotten used to the ITB noises i have started to hear an erratic noise which comes on under medium to almost full load when accelerating.it's not present at idle or lifting off, sounds like early on set of big end failure to me but i need a second opinion. its sound as though it's definitely coming from the engine as opposed to CV joint area.any one on here driven/driving big end failures? help appreciated
whiteglanzav
big end failures are usually on part throttle/idle and gets worse with more revs - i have done it twice lol
steed
in that case has anyone ever had det/knock/pinking what does that sound like for these engines? as i'm really running out of idea as to what it could be. i don't want to do any examinations that are too invasive yet as this is my daily drive
whiteglanzav
is it only since you got the itbs on there ? have you got any management ? could be running lean and detting - not a good thing
steed
that's what i'm think as i've stopped it from running uber rich by re-jigging the manifold tap off- lines. You reckon it might be a cause of to much air in the mid range where it didn't use to get it before? it's not detting towards the top end.
whiteglanzav
it is a possibility mate but i'm not 100%
