problems with cv joints + boots

i was replacing my cv joints + boots yesterday all was going well but the shitty circlips i got with them just dont stay on properly, is there any other clips about i could use, did try jubilee but theyre too wide. also how did every1 get there cv boots onto the shafts that go into the box theyre being a right pain as soon as i think ive got the final side on te other jumps off.
