How to remove the 5th gear using a puller?

Recommended Posts

My 5th gear is currently popping out all the time, i have taken the gearbox cover off showing off the 5th gear asembly. I have another gearbox which i am just going to do a straight swap with the 5th gears.

I dont want to go damaging anything as I know you have to pull off the 5th gear with a puller. Although I am not 100% on the process for this can someone explain what i should do to take them off so i can swap them out.

Currently it looks like this (i havent taken the big nut off which is normally on the left)

Can someone explain to me what i need to do, including giving me a link on which puller you think i should get. I have got a gear puller already similar to this, can i use this? Which part of the gear should i place the puller on?? Does it all come off in one go etc?

Any help would be great

Craig
