You mean the camshaft pulley? No it won't be including in a timing belt kit, as far as I know you only get the idler pulley plus the belt.

Its just a metal "wheel" mate, has a seal behind it thats all....you should get a idler, tensioner, belt and a little replacement interval sticker in your kit...

ok guys thats cool.

does any one elses top pulley make a noise? i dont know why its doing it, if its idle its not usually their unless ive just started it and then it goes away, but if i rev to about 2k rpm and let it drop it makes that wee noise just above 1k rpm and goes away as it drops..

Open the timing cover and have a look at it whilest its running, make a vid? Could be that your confusing the noise with something else?

I'm sure most engines do have camshaft ball bearings on the outer ends, in fairness though I haven't stripped down a 4e/5e that far to notice.

It could be the alternator as the bearings can go in them and is on that side.

im also having the same exact sound on my ep91

mine start doing it when i had to remove the timing belt to replace the cam seal

think it has to do with the 2 pulleys that tension the timing belt! those need to be replace with new ones..
