Gearbox Oil Type

Been searching for a thread about this but can't find any. What viscosity of gearbox oil should be used in a gt gearbox and also how many litres will I need? Also any recommendations on brands would be good aswell. Thanks in advance.

I just went to halfords got stuff for £9 a litre. Would be even cheaper from a local motor factors.

Opie oils have just posted on the forum they are doing free delivery to UK mainland aswell if you don't mind waiting.

Probably both do the job just fine, just like to use expensive oil for piece of mind lol.

I use castrol transynd in mine. Castrol tes-295. Designed for automatic gearboxes with excellent shock loading and anti foaming properties. Works well with my LSD and no crunches on cold mornings.

No, changing it to manual in the next couple of weeks that's why I'm asking which oil is best for manual box now.

Manual box, c150 model.

It was exactly at the level of the midle plug.

I dont know exact box codes. Is it possibly LSD?

I know the manual box non LSD is 1.7/1.8ltr.

I've had my gearbox off twice in the last month mate I can assure you you wont need more then 2Ltr
