coolant temp sensor wiring

had the fault code come up for temp sensor assumed the sensor it self so gone to fit a replacement and the plugs dropped of with corroded wiring,

it only had 1 wire going to it but 2 terminals so can anybody tell me where they both go to and which colour wire does what side

The brown wire is the ground on the ecu side, and the green/black wire goes to the ecu also, this would be the signal wire

cheers mate which way round do they go on the sensor or doesn't it matter ?

If looking at the plug with the rectangle plastic notch at the top, the connections at the bottom :

The left one goes to the Ground - ECU, the right connection goes to the ECU signal wire.
